The colours are extremely alive in this one.
Maybe that's my problem, you see. I have a digital wide-angle camera. And then, when you try to isolate some piece of image, there goes the good resolution and colours. Also, I cannot chose my f number or focal length as I wished. I'm totally at the mercy of the mood swings of my camera.
I read wide-angle lenses are better for interior photos, as well as landscaspes. However, it's not good for external architecture photos.

you should definitley go back and capture this with a wide-angle lens if you ever get one. brilliant looking subject.

yeah this photo is great. The depth of focus and clarity are excellent. I really like the tone as well, it gives an eerie sense of decay, but at the same time new life in the plants that are growing in and around ..

Verry nice HDR Shot This is one of a Perfect Place to use the Tecnique. I donot Belive it is cheating. With film you could Dodge and Burn Untill you got it right and that isn't cheating. The contrast is amazing and the detail is stunning.

Well Not just for him. For SOme REason some ppl Find it Cheating when you Increase the contrast of something else along the lines. Some Times i wounder if they'd ever heard of a dark room.. If i had the time space and Money I'd switch 100% to film But untill i can Affoard to set up a dark room I'd rather not trust my anything to a Film Lab.

Yeah, that's kind of an absurd outlook to call things you could do in the darkroom "cheating." There're a lot of clueless people in "art communities" though.
I used to do all my own processing, developing and printing. Definitely more time-consuming, but you do feel like you've *made* something when you're done.
Yeah, and film labs are a bit of a scary proposition. I used one once for some prints (and only once) and they printed everything to middle-grey, so I got a bunch of washed-out looking shots. Biggest waste of money ever.

great hdr action there... the shot would probably not look as good, or rather you'd have parts under/ over exposed without it.

The colours in this are absolutely fantastic, did you do much post processing to the picture. I would be interested to hear what you did to it.

It is an HDR shot (a combination of an under-exposed, normally-exposed, and over-exposed image to give detail in both the highlights and the shadows). I apply the technique very subtly though, so it's almost not even apparent. The light from the window would have made this shot extremely difficult to expose correctly with a single exposure. Aside from combining the exposures there wasn't much else done to it, maybe a level adjustment.

I thought it was either HDR or some clever use of contrast masks.

I'm very much in love with this picture, it's so .... I don't know... I want to say rustic and charming, but I'm not sure that would be quite right... well done though! It looks beautiful.
