Description This is a crocodilian that is not often exposed much. This is a American crocodile basking in the lagoons of Florida. They are native to the Southern United States from the Southern tip of Florida; the Caribbean; and Central to South America. They are the only species of crocodile native to the United States and coexist with the American alligators. They usually live in lagoons to tropical rainforests. They mainly grow 14 feet long and are the second largest reptiles in the United States. American crocodiles are predators preying on different species like crawfish to white tailed deer by ambushing in the water with their strong jaws. American crocodiles can be tell apart from American alligators by their V shaped jaws; olive brown skin; and how their teeth are arranged. They were once hunted heavily for their meat and skin but their population is expanding. Oh, I forgot to mention they normally don't attack humans compared to saltwater crocodiles and Nile crocodiles but are still not to be bothered. Tell me what do you think of it.
