Ok.. remember my journal offering up a chance to apply for a free art piece in traditional markers during this week? I realized that in order for me to be able to show what I can currently do I had to make a sample, which on top of work took me nearly all week to do ¬.¬

Abari funnily enough only took me one solid evening, Vayourin on the other hand as you can see needed a change in appearance since his last form was complicated and posed some problems. So I had to go on the computer with just his lineart and paint out a color scheme for him before I went back to marker and attempted to duplicate. Abari was never touched with the blender marker, but Vayourin was heavily doused in the blended areas, albeit rather... roughly....

I also had an issue with my gelpen... The one I had used before decided to up and quit while it was still full ¬.¬ So I had to go get a new one, bought a pack of three, went home to use them, and found none of them worked either. Now I had to haul my butt back to the store, exchange them, and test out the new ones in the store only to find they didn't work either. I was thoroughly miffed and got my refund, then trundled to the local Hobby Lobby down the road and scouted for some decent white gel pens, coming out with three different types of white pens.

One of them was ironically the same brand as the others that didn't work, with a different packaging, and it wrote beautifully. The second was a pack of two with the same rollerpoint tips, and then the third was more of a paint pen than a gel pen, and that I used to make Vayourin's elemental markings on his back. The gel pen was used to lay down the white for Abari's wingspots and of course highlights :3

So anyways.. if you still want a chance to let me experiment with your non-human characters post a comment on the journal in the link above and I'll get to it soonish after I finish other standing commissions >_> Next week is going to hammer me hard at work with only one day off.

List of colors used on the two-
Abari-
- Main body - Cloud grey 10% base with CG 90% as the overcoat, and Jet black for the markings
- Cream- Jasmine base overlaid with Oatmeal
- Stripes and wings - Sand base with Mocha light over the cream mix.
-Spotting - Deco Blue
-Claws- Bronze
-Hand skin - Putty
-Mouth- Mix of Cloud Grey 10%, Deco Pink, and Cherry

Vayourin-

- Body - Sky blue base, Deco blue (applies to eyes and gem), True Blue, and Indigo cape, blender marker heavily used (and I failed to have realized I never replaced my slowly failing Indigo D: Hence why it looks rough despite the layering)

- Tendrils - all but Indigo, stripes were done with Imperial Violet

- Gold/orange sections - Deco Yellow base, Jasmine, Spanish Orange, Mineral Orange, and Pale Vermilion. Blender marker was also used with better results

- Claws and nose - Cloud Grey 90%
