Description Saw a lot of Sherlock and John in a Hogwarts!AU and thought I'd like to get in on that.

This is what spawned from that idea.

Monotoned because I don't wanna deal with the arguments of who belongs where.

Sherlock Holmes, John Watson, Gregory Lestrade, Sally Donovan, Anderson (whom I will name Jonathan after his actor.) (c) BBC, ACD

Harry Potter (c) JK Rowling

Here's my determination:

Sherlock Holmes:
Ravenclaw- Intelligent, yes, but creativity is also a trait as stated by pottermore. Think about all the times Sherlock has had to use some sort of disguise or come up with a plan on the fly. Intelligence alone wouldn't get him anywhere. He needs to be creative enough to think outside the box. That, and there's his violin playing; another outlet of creativity. Sherlock is not able to play various pieces, but compose his own as well.

John Watson:
Gryffindor- This can be controversial. Yes, John is loyal, but courage is his stand out trait. He went through Afghanistan knowing he may or may not come back. He is not afraid to tell Sherlock off or chase after a madman with a gun. John was brave enough to go on instincts in ASiP and ignore Donovan's warning about our favorite sleuth. Of course, lets not forget that John is an adrenaline junkie.

Greg Lestrade:
Gryffindor- Like John, also controversial. However, Lestarade is a strong leader and knows how to keep everyone (Sherlock and the Yard) under control. In TSoT, Lestrade rushes to Sherlock's urgent aid, believing he had been kidnapped or seriously injured at 221B, when really Sherlock just wanted help for his best man's speech. He didn't care if there were guns or explosives, or anything else dangerous.

I'm sorry to do this but I love your drawing and used it to as preview for my story for Sherlock at Hogwarts. All rights went to you but if you DO mind then I will change it.

what houses did you put them in???

I didn't put them in any. I don't want to have to deal with arguing which houses and why. They're ambiguous to me.

fantastic!
i myself believe Sherlock would make a wonderful Slytherin. John? a possible hufflepuff
Lestrade, maybe Ravenclaw. Donovan could be Gryffindor, and Anderson is a hufflepuff.
yeppers thats what i think.
but anyway, this is a great idea, i especially love the way you drew them!

poisoned-harlequin [2011-02-09 17:19:40 +0000 UTC]

you can tell exactly which ones which, which is amazing because all of them have very hard faces to draw.

john is in gryffindor <-- sorry, needed to say that. there is no way john would be in hufflepuff, hes far too heroic!

TerresDeBrume [2011-02-05 14:37:02 +0000 UTC]

Mmmh... I'd say Sherlock in Slytherin, John in Hufflepuff, Mycroft in Ravenclaw. Lestrade and Sally would be fine in Gryffindor, I think, and Anderson is definitely a Slytherin in my mind.
(Which means the poor guy most likely suffered Sherlock-induced abuse during his time in Hogwarts, though I don't think they'd be in the same year xD)

Anyway, Nice picture, and I do agree with you: we need more Sherlock/HP crossovers! x)

YESS!!!! This crossover will never get old for me!! I get so excited every time!

I applaud your way to avoid the who-belongs-in-which-house argument (I'm Slytherin!Sherlock all the way, though...)
Aww, but what about Mycroft? (needs more Mycroft ^^)
How about Moriarty, too? Oh, wait, VOLDEMORIARTY!!!

General consensus APPEARS to be Griff!John, Huff!Lestrade, Raven!Mycroft and Slyth!Moriarty. Argument for Slyth!Sherlock is the will, determination and rulebreaking nature less common in Ravenclaws, whilst points for Raven!Sherlock include 'too smart for Slytherin'. Personally, I'm a Slyth!Sherlock supporter. I think Sally and (forthesakeofargument) 'Jonathan' would also be Huffs, though they might be Griffs...

An actual argument? Jeebus Cripes.

I don't know jackshit about Harry Potter, but BBCSherlock is more Slytherin than canonHolmes. John is just a cutie. ;D
