ARTIST'S COMMENTS

This is =HymnsOfMisery 's gorgeous character Hymns, as most of you probably known :] She is such a great character to draw, really beaming with elegance, beauty and strength, all at once I also adore her simple yet striking characteristic markings, making her unique in an not too over-the-top kinda way

The pose was referenced from an old photo I had laying around on my computer, but I can't seem to remember where it's from. If anyone recognises the pose, please let me know so that I can put down the proper credit for it!

This Friesian look so gorgeous! I love the colouring and shading, particularly the blue on the mane, tail and hooves, and how it's coat looks so shiny! The pose looks nice too, especially the way the mane and tail flows out behind her body. Great work!

Thank you I use the airbrush a lot in Photoshop, as well as the Eyedropper tool to further blend all the colours. I hardly ever use the smudge, since it makes the coats appear sort of plastic and unnaturally smooth. Same goes for the dodge/burn tools I am working on a horse colouring tutorial at the moment, which I will be uploading as soon as finished

AH oki thanks for the tip! it seemes hard to paint without using the smudge at all, atleast i think so without getting it to look messy. but i guess its a practise thing. when i dont use the smudge the edges of the pencil looks kinda hard if you understand what i mean by that dont you even smooth out the edges?

Her beauty is simply stunning. She looks so powerful, yet has a feeling of gentleness to her. The pose makes it look more like she's floating instead of trotting.

I love her subtle markings. Very beautiful. While looking at this, I can't help but think her breed is a Freisain. Maybe it's the tufts of fur near her hooves.

All in all a gorgeous picture. I apologize for not commenting lately, but trust me when I say I still do enjoy your work. Keep it up.

I know I have seen this character in your gallery somewhere before!

This turned out SO amazing! The pose is epic, he looks so powerful. That is what I thought when I saw this. The anatomy is perfect, the shading is amazing, and that pretty shimmer and glimmer on his coat is perfect, too. I seriously have to learn how you draw and color your manes and tails so perfectly and realistically, Cerona. They are SO perfect and gorgeous! The purple at the ends of the mane and tail blends right into the black at the base.

This couldn't be more perfect. Keep up he amazing work!

Thanks! Yeah, I did draw her before as a trade, and I'm really happy I got to draw her yet again - she's such an adorable character It's also quite fun to re-draw the same character in a year's time. Even though I don't always feel like I've changed or improved too much, looking back on the drawing I did of her a year ago, there's quite a big difference, and hopefully a good difference too! I love drawing black horses, but they can be very tricky too

I remembered that you did another picture of her before, and when I went to look at it, I saw a difference, too. And yes, it is a good difference! I also agree with you, that black horses are very hard to draw. For me, the hard part is coloring them in, because it is hard to do the shading and highlights.
