It was tire day for the last few days. First we started out with a 3 a.m. race to the airport to make a flight, not my flight, which was a good thing because I was kryptonite from here on out. What else happens though but a flat tire. It was early. Everyone is closed. It was twenty degrees. Still managed to sleep until a tow truck was acquired, and we trundle on down the highway to the semi-local tire genius haus. Outside the shop is a work truck saying 'we work on tractors'. I should have known right then, but it took me a few minutes for the full import of the words to really sink in. Well we get our tire patched up and replaced and start talking with the proprietor of the establishment, and his two year old. Tractor tires? he says, Oh sure. 4 feet tall and full of water and 1000 pounds? No problem! I'll do it by hand. Thus began tire day. It continued for like 48 hours. I went back and fixed the twelve flat tires that we have hanging around the house (doesn't everybody?) and scheduled the great tractor tire extravaganza out on the farm. I just got home. Was a sight to be seen. He did indeed flip two thousand pound tires single handedly. I should have brought popcorn. It involved driving by Hensley Lake sometime on the way. Pictured.
