~ 16"x16"Vine Charcoal, Compressed Charcoal, Pastel Pencil, White Conte' on Charcoal Paper
This is a piece I did as a Christmas gift. I took the reference from a photo taken by Daniel Wood, though I changed ALOT of it to my own liking. I sketched the entire piece in charcoal and a light amount conte'. I only added color in the eyes to give them soul. The picture I took of it is somewhat blurry, but I can't upload another one because I already gave the picture away! I hated using charcoal before I took my last art class. Now, I it's one of my favorite mediums. It took me about 7 hours to complete (Yes, I know I'm slow...... I NEED to get faster......)

i absolutely adore wolves, these r fabdabadoosy, great work with the colours! wish i could draw like that with colour... tho i never really tried

Yeah, the shadow..... I tried to change it a bit from the photo, but it still didn't look right, so I decided to just keep it theway thephoto had it. It looked funny in the photo, too..... don't you just it when it happens like that?!

no, i know what you mean, lol. yea, i always end up like looking at a pic starting to draw by, and then just being like, um, no and doing it myself. photos morph the true look of things a lot.

Totally! Actually photo's distort the actual subject alot! I think it's due to the fact that life is three-dimensional, a photo is only two-dimensional.

yea, they always mess up angles and everything, thats why i tend to look at a photo for finer details rather than the subject.
