Though Cassidy wanted to believe it too, he just couldn’t. Not that easily. He’d have to see the thing playing nice with everyone before he’d accept that. He wanted to ask something else, but he wasn’t sure what. What’s more, before he could come up with something, another familiar, youthful voice chimed in.
“You guys are a bunch of liars!” the little Weavile yelled as he approached the group.
“H-hey now, no need for that, Sunny!” Luke nervously attempted to calm the boy down. Cassidy had always both admired and hated the way Luke tried to take it upon himself to defuse situations.
“Yes there is,” Sundance corrected. He marched right up to Sol and Chelle and folded his black-furred arms together, scowling at the both of them. “How come you didn’t tell us about any of this before?!”
Chelle looked Sundance in the eye and replied quite calmly, “Do you tell us everything your guild knows?”
Just those few words had shut Sundance down. He grit his teeth in frustration, unable to come up with a response. Finally, he turned and began marching away angrily. “I’ll be putting this on the report!” he concluded. It seemed like he was trying to sound professional, given that he never said such things normally.
Cassidy knew it was coming, and then he heard it. The sound of Luke’s big, fat feet chasing after Sundance. “Hey, little guy! There’s no need to leave angry!” the Swampert attempted to console the young Weavile. Of course, it didn’t stop Sundance from leaving. The predictability brought a sigh from the Floatzel, and a roll of his eyes. Luke couldn’t just stay out of things that weren’t his business, could he?
Out of the corner of his eye, Cassidy noticed a shadowed figure that grabbed his attention. It was short, and carrying a bag full of something. He felt like he recognized them and their black and white fur pattern, but they disappeared into the foliage before he could make out their face, or even their species. All he knew was that they looked mighty suspicious. He thought to perhaps pursue them, only to be distracted by several gasps from Pokemon around the statue, some of which were pointing up at the top of it. Cassidy tilted his head up, and spotted his brother climbing the foliage present on the creature.
