I watched Chris perform on Spook in the arena on the large screens hovering over the warm up pen. There was a drag between my draw and his, so I still had plenty of time to get Storm warmed up.

The black mare lowered her head and rubbed her nose, unbothered by the bustling show atmosphere around her. I smiled and kissed her forward into a walk, picking up my warm up routine again.

A couple of minutes later our names were called over the speakers and I turned her over to the gate. "Let's go girl." I muttered and spotted Chris at the fence, giving me a thumbs up.

Storm's ears flicked forward as the spotlights were moving over to us, the crowd roaring up in anticipation. I bit the inside of my cheek and halted at X.

Soon after we were off in a right lead gallop, kicking off our pattern with three circles, first two large and fast, the third slow and small.

We eventually moved on to our spins, left lead circles and towards the end of the pattern - our stops.

The first one was a bit choppy, but she was young and the arena was unfamiliar to her - so I couldn't blame her. The rollback was smooth, and luckily so we're our next two stops.

Our pattern ended with one final sliding stop into a smooth back up. I dropped my reins to signal I was done, patting her on our way out.
