Description There's no need to adjust your monitor settings, this was was deliberately made to have really intense colours, even by my standards

And so it should, to bring in the New year each year I've been on this site I have always let loose and done a colourful space scene as my own little way of commemorating it The scene itself didn't need to be anything too original, I kinda wanted a more "typical" looking situation, but with the twist being in the colours. I wanted to go for something really fluro-looking and sort of Summery too (that was part of my inspiration after all ) When I allow myself to use such intense colours there became so many possibilities because realism went out the door either way. But my original scheme seemed best, so I stuck with that Still not sure about this one so it *might* be prone to later editing.

Well, Happy 2012!, and don't buy into the end of the world crap

Hmm, we could talk through e-mails if you really want to. But there's not much discussion here beyond me asking if you can remove or disqualify the entry containing my work (and any others that use pictures you might recognize from deviantART) I don't really fell the need to contact the culprit as long as they remove the offending entry. That would be very much appreciated

That's amazing. It's the best starscape I've seen by far, it looks so beautiful and real. Did you draw it using a reference or just from your imagination?

I didn't use a reference here, it's actually quite non realistic, as such colours still don't really exist in space But I have seen so much pictures of the real thing that I can easily remember what kind of shapes, forms and lighting look more natural, even when given brighter than usual colours I would recommend people who are new to the genre to use references though, but I'm pretty independent with this stuff by now

I suppose the more you practice drawing a particular thing the easier it is to draw it from your imagination. Whenever I try to paint the stars it just looks like a colourful mess :L

Wow, that's amazing. It's like those pictures people take of food coloring in a glass of water...but I like this version! I think the saturated colors look great.
