Description
Like many Hettic military officers, Ifan Litcwermenn was born and bred into his position - nevertheless, he often found himself at odds with his compatriots, whose more rigid adherence to tradition never sat well with him. Litcwermenn was an avid futurist, with a keen interest on infrastructure and transportation technology, and spent much of his downtime studying locomotive engineering and writing short speculative fiction stories, mainly focused on the inner workings of futuristic societies. His interests transferred smoothly into his military career, as he spearheaded efforts to modernize Hetland's military technology and logistics. Budgetary constraints, and his relative lack of social influence in Hettic aristocracy, often soiled his efforts, but mounting tensions in the west ultimately allowed his work to bear fruit. This resulted in the growth of the Royal Flying Service, importing of arms from the nations of the Sovereigns' League, and overall improvement to the combat readiness of the Home Army, albeit at the last minute before Syrvania's invasion.
Many comparisons could be drawn to his Syrvanian counterpart, Endri Larmos. Indeed, the two had a sort of unspoken personal rivalry over the course of the Second Leersog war, described in Litcwermenn's memoirs as "a sort of envy, like that a chained hound might feel as it watches a wild fox catch and kill rabbits to its hearts content". His contempt for his superiors, owing to their constant interference, led to his appointment to Chief of Staff of the Hettic Republican Army, after the flight of the royal family and capitulation of the Kingdom. From there, his relationship with Larmos developed, as the two began to regularly correspond and, later on, often met in person on their own time. Having been one of the few people to be so personal with Larmos, it was Litcwermenn's accounts that revealed many details of his personality, having described him as "always in one very specific place, very far away, despite his body being right in front of me".
Been horribly out of practice since I've been focusing on developing my mod.
