Description
A large amphibious mammal found in watery parts of Australia, and described in Aboriginal mythology. Its name is Wemba-Wemba for "devil" or "evil spirit." It seems to bear a slight resemblance to the extinct marsupial Diprotodon. The Bunyip is an herbivore living in swamps, but has been known to devour humans. It has fins for swimming, a shovel-like snout for foraging, and moss growing in its fur, possibly for camouflage.Related content
