Wow how do you make such a thing!
I get completely depressed about my own style when I see things like yours. How do you get these effects ?

There are several books available on the market(and possibly at your public library) about how to create watercolor textures. But what I have learned in my years of experimentation and flops is that you need to be willing to play around with the medium, test its boundaries and what other mediums you want to mix with it. Watercolor is quite amenable and when you add salt, coffee, wax or alcohol you can create all sorts of cool things. Even tools as simple as a drink straw will open up avenues of possibilities.

I am in love with your style. I have to ask, do you ink first, or watercolor first (or is it gouache?)?

Thank you!

The initial line art was inked, then scanned and printed on BFK cotton paper, water colored and re-inked.

I have discovered by do two stages of inking allows me the flexibility to redo the piece as many times as I wish.
