This is beautiful. I've only just started reading River God and I'm loving it. Lostris looks older in this picture but I'm not sure how many years the book actually covers since I'm only about 150 pages in but this is beautiful. Have you done anything else from Wilbur Smith's books?

No, the beads are OVER the dress. There is a reconstructed bead thing like that in the Petrie museum, and I presume it was worn as an outer layer over a dress... ooh-er!

Thank you for clearing that up ... hee-hee! It must have taken you a long time to draw and plot all those beads. It's just as well that there was cloth underneath, or it might have taken you longer putting in the other interesting bits .... Oh, I mustn't make you blush again ...
