Description
Sort of a test to see how my style has changed....this old one was worked on in late 2011-early 2012.
I would say this is about 80-90% done, I just have to post it to stop fussing over what I don't like about it so much (the background)

Gorgeous job on the magical Princess of the Night as she floats her way along the night sky and brings all kinks of radiance and beauty to the otherwise foreboding night. Such a pretty, thoughtful face and kind eyes are awesome, and her overall body language is very dynamic and suggest that she's making good time as she finds ponies to help with her special skills. She looks as if she's carrying pure wonder and the happiest of dreams to deliver to ponies everything. Amazing.

Absolutely fantastic total improvement.
although the old one was quite beautiful, too. You happen to be lucky. I'm in the inspiration to redraw my own art from last YEAR, and their SO HORRIBLY BAD.
so bad......I can draw dragon snouts and pony legs so much better......
but anyways, cheers to you on becoming even better over an already fabulous piece.

I reeaally like the divine/ethereal look you added to Luna's mane and even her wings.
In my eyes, though only things left to "fix" are the muzzle and eyelids/lashes looking so blocky/claylike and her eyes looking so glassy, like they're painted on a plastic doll, but that's art style choice and therefore up to your personal tastes.
Oh, and re-looking back on it, you also did the lighting and shadows being made by her mane extremely well. You did really well with the sunset being refracted through her mane and shading the back of her body in the older version, but this has a more 'intense' feel to it, due to the higher contrast, especially since the are not a lot of clouds with the same color as her body, which is probably what made you feel uneasy about the background.
Luna just kinda blended in color pallet wise. (so much blue of the same color)
