"“It’s the unknown that draws people" -E.A. Bucchianeri
Seeker doesn't truly set out to be mysterious in any manner or had planned to be labeled as such but she is a quiet individual but not out of shyness. She much rather would listen and observe before pouring her own thoughts into any situation. This has seemingly gained her the title of being generally mysterious. She gives out little of herself as Seeker finds it rather pointless. The future is ahead, not the past so why bring it back to the forefront of her mind?

"I have a theory that selflessness and bravery aren't all that different." -Veronica Roth
Though you may think her just a passing horse she may be the one to simply lay her life down for you in a bad situation. She cares little for herself when it comes down to it and there fore values everyone else she meets before herself. This pulls along being brave. Many who have been in horrible places where Seeker has helped she appears only brave even though deep down she was scared to death. Yet not for herself, for the other she was helping. Her 'super hero' complex.

"One of the most sincere forms of respect is actually listening to what another has to say." - Bryant McGill
Valuing others has great traits that come with it such as respecting others. As a whole group of species or singularly, she holds respect for elders, workers, slave, and even the minor beings of the forest as well as the forest itself. Sometimes this can even swing into a bad habit as she can be so minded to others that if she feels she hurt or offended someone her emotions can take over and she can apologize time and time again until one is annoyed with this.

"Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow, it empties today of its strength." - Corrie ten Boom
Seeker can be wracked with worry but when it gets down to it she is so good at keeping her cool it can be hard to tell. Unless she is already in a vulnerable state she can quell this feeling. If she is in a turmoil state she suffers from near panic attacks. This also happens if the situation effects others and she cannot help them.

"I have a realistic grasp of my own strengths and weaknesses. My mind is my weapon..." - G.R.R. Martin
The Wanderer is very bright but often times keeps it to herself and lends to her mysterious nature. She chooses without speech, fixes problems or things without voice and rarely will she push her intelligence onto others by correcting them unless it could lead to harm. When she does she is often extremely apologetic for doing so.

"Why is it that when one man builds a wall, the next man immediately needs to know what's on the other side?" - G.R.R. Martin
Curiosity killed the....horse? She has something inside her that is absolutely thirsty for learning things which goes hand in hand with her intelligence. Her curiosity also stems to learning about other equestrians. She loves to observe horses and even mentally tries to predict how they act. Her thirst does not stop at other horses but rather at the lands her hooves find. Its mostly why she never stayed within any herd or group, as her name tells, she always felt the need to seek out greater and grander sights.

"Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached." - Simone Weil
Coming with her curious nature, and even with her selflessness she cannot help but always feel the need to leave and sometimes creates a personal detachment. She would rather not get close to anyone in particular so that she can leave and no one would hurt to miss her.

"Bran thought about it. 'Can a man still be brave if he's afraid?'
'That is the only time a man can be brave,' his father told him"- G.R.R. Martin
Though often brave she has many fears. Fears of death are there but she refuses to notice it. She hates spiders, heights and blood. Seeker fears dying alone but being a Vagabond she realizes this is more than likely. She fears many other things in terms of objects and emotions. Fearing to be hated is one of the greatest fears she holds.
History
Foalhood 0-2 years
Seekers childhood is no story of bravery or hardship but all the same it was not the most plain. Seeker’s mother was a simple servile slave to one of the many noble houses of Aodh. Known as Stardot, she was a beautiful horse. Deep brown with even darker freckling across her body with simple but beautiful porcelain colored markings adorning her face and legs. It was not surprising her owner valued her on a decorative level and even though she worked where directed within the household, she was one of the lucky ones that accompanied their owner, Bernard, on outings. They frequented the fighting pits like any other noble family and in secret, Stardot began a romance with a fighter of no great note. Although the herd accepted sex as something to be enjoyed, she was owned by a noble who frequented her from time to time. Stardot was positive he would be furious if their relations were ever discovered. But as bad luck would have it, her extracurricular activities resulted in a pregnancy and before to long the trim horse began to show. Bernard was indeed furious that someone has poisoned his prized slave and sought action. Stardot held the information of the babes parentage close, that was until Bernard began to talk about selling off the child or just having the pregnancy terminated. Stricken by fear and maternal instincts, Stardot became an open book. Although no punishment was laid up the mare, she never knew what happened to her fighting lover. As the small mares time neared she was put on strict bed rest, growing frailer by the day and was not permitted to leave the noble’s grounds. The labor came suddenly and premature as Stardot‘s body could not take the pregnancy any longer. It was difficult and if it had not been for the midwife Stardot’s owner had on hand both mother and foal would have surely died. But in the end both survived the early birth, though Stardot had prolonged bleeding and was weaker ever since.
After the birth, Stardot was granted time to begin rearing her child as well as the chance to recover as much as she could but it was not long until Bernard craved to have his favorite slave to flaunt once again. Stardot was no longer granted the time that a mother and child should have. The responsibility of raising the foal that would become Seeker fell to other slaves of the household. Often times floating between different ones, depending on who had the time or the safest work to get done.
Adolescence 3-5 years
Seeker fell quickly into a name as no one could seem to stop her constantly seeking out new things, often landing her in trouble. It was clear by her feisty spirit to even her noble owners that she cared little for Aodh society and its class system. The filly held ingrained knowledge she could never amount to anything having been the daughter of a slave. She did not dwell on that, or what she was and was not allowed to do. Much to her owners dismay. Curiosity blossomed in Seeker and she made many trips into the world. At first it was cute but as she vanished more and more frequently, leaving duties unfinished and even worse, being escorted home with some tale of how disrespectful the young slave was. In an attempt to stop such occurrences Seeker was often best by her owners, not badly but in an attempt to put the slave girl in her place. One thing did slow down her mischief, the noble man had sired a son only a year after her own birth and he was coming into his own. A vibrant copper pelt and only a bright white star adorned the colt but still he held the promise to become a dashing stallion. Sadly he had nothing but a vile temperament. Vicious and perverse even as a youngster, he sought to bring Seeker as much grief as he could. Seeker found herself hiding more than ever for the little tick would follow her as she snuck out, snitching on her or bring terror to her out on the streets of Aodh. Once, as they were reaching early adulthood, Seeker needed to leave. In hopes of avoiding the young master who was by then named Fox, she left in the late night, hoping to enjoy a bit of the night life Aodh had to offer. Unfortunately that was not the case. He had found her leaving the grounds and duly followed. He watched her as she enjoyed the lights and street shows, managed to drum up some food and play with other young Aodhians. He let her have all this but when she went to return she found gates that were always open, sealed shut. In one last effort she tried the very front, a way she would always avoid so she would not be seen. At this point though, she was desperate. As she reached it her heart fluttered, she could see the iron gate sat mildly ajar and she canted through it. After that, everything went dark. The next memory she can bring back was her awakening to the sound of a fellow slave knocking over a bowl of water. Her head hurt something fierce and her tail seared in pain. Startled by Seeker’s sudden burst into lucidity, the slave shrieked and rushed from the room. Seeker laid groggily on the bed as she tried to assess her surroundings. Before she could gather herself, her mother and an old matronly mare followed. A doctor, Seeker became quickly aware as she began to examine the newly awoken girl. Her head got an all clear, save for what would be a decent scar along her mane line. What came as more of a shock however was Seeker’s once lush and cocoa colored tail. As soon as the doctor moved the heavily bandaged tail, pain made her black out. Minutes later, she come back to and the doctor had left, a lingering sting was left on her freshly bandaged tail. Quickly glancing around, Seeker found her mother and fixed her with a stare that clearly wanted explanation. Slowly Stardrop began in a pained voice, all she knew.
Fox had followed her all night, stalking her movements until it was clear she was headed home. He quickly barred all access to the manor grounds except for the heavily overgrown and exuberant front gateway. There Fox waited until the panicked Seeker rushed in where he slammed a piece of rubble into her head, leaving the scar. She promptly was knocked unconscious when fox dragged her out of the way of any prying eyes and into a tool shed. Here Fox lit a small fire and placed Seekers tail within the flames, letting it burn into nothing. He would the scoot her closer and let more of her hair sizzle away. Finally all that was left was what hair was around the flesh and bone. This was when another slave happened upon them, smelling them terrible odor of burned hair. Frightened, the slave rushed away to fetch the owner. Bernard returned with Stardot who was with him just as they reached the shed, the air shook with screaming. Stardot told Seeker that Fox had finally placed the rest of her tail in the flames, searing the flesh. She was told that the doctor may still want to amputate her tail as she was positive that it would never grow hair again. Seeker was lucky to not remember the ordeal and recovered quickly but she showed signs of fear that she never held before. The little family learned that Fox had been tormenting other, often younger slaves in similar manners. Rumors about vile things happening to small animals leaked throughout the manor as well. It was not much longer after Seeker’s assault that Fox vanished from the estate. Having Bernard’s ear, Stardrop found out they had sent him to a private tutor that would teach him how to be a real gentleman. Without Fox, the household fell into a sort of warm peace. Learning to behave more than ever, Seeker found solace in work. She began to show the same selflessness her mother was known for. Often times taking extra work from the elderly slaves so they could rest. As Seeker grew, Bernard began to grow fond of the once headache inducing mare.
Early Adulthood 6-10 years
As Seeker aged, so did her owners household. Fox had been the youngest child of the family, his mother lost her life in childbirth. The three older daughters had all been married off, two sons followed suit to extend the family’s name. With only one remaining son it was inevitable that Fox return home in hopes to be wed off and out of his fathers hair. Terrified, Seeker did her best to remain out Fox’s attention. All those times she had helped others paid off as they often times helped her. Stardot even seemed to be taxed from stress of Fox being home as her health began to decline slowly. What Seeker saw of Fox only made her terror more profound. Though cool, handsome and proud she could still see the slime inside him. It proved true as Bernard made match after match for his son with noble mares of Aodh. Every time however, his true nature would shine through even with all the training and molding his father had paid have done. Before a set date could be formed, each female backed out in fear for themselves. Frustration between the family grew and Fox lashed out towards the slaves more and more before finally bubbling over and even striking his father Bernard. Enough had been enough, Bernard pooled enough of his resources as a sort of reward for marriage to his son and eventually enough coin could find a willing bride. Some deal had been struck and a day set. The household slaves seemed to drip with tension and a manner of excitement for their clam, working lives to return to normal. Closer still the day came and never had there but such a palpable thickness. Everyone feared that something would happen and they’d be stuck serving a cruel master for even longer. Then it was the day before, everyone strove to make things perfect so nothing could go wrong and be blamed on them, everyone seemed to have a lingering relief that this was almost past. That was until both Seeker and Stardot were summoned to Bernard’s working chamber where him and Fox stood conversing. Seeing the putrid stallion, Seeker’s lust to run hit new levels as a flight instinct stirred within her. But her mother touched shoulders with her and Seeker wrested her emotions into place as Bernard commanded them to come forward. As with Bernard’s other offspring, he would often send a loyal slave to help setup the new household. Seekers heart sank as she looked to Fox. His eyes glittered happily at her, not able to bare his gaze she awaited for Bernard to say she would be sent to be Fox’s and his wife’s home. When Bernard said her mothers name, Seeker felt weak and her eyes found her mother's face. Her own eyes were shut but a slight smile graced her lips. The rest of the audience went by in a fuzz as details were went over with Stardot. Bernard’s family made a deal with the to-be-bride’s, knowing full well what kind of soul Fox held. The brides noble family made tight stipulations for the marriage, beyond given Fox children they would hold no relations. Each would find their solace in others and they would build multiple buildings on the estate and Fox was not permitted into any of his wife’s suites unless invited. The family made it clear that they would have their own retinue of slaves and guards to protect their daughter from the monster they were willfully sending her to. Fox could not care but used the opportunity to cut deep, he wanted Stardot for his own pleasures. Bernard scowled as he told the pair of what he was required to do for his son, obviously disgusted but if giving up a slave would end this ordeal, it would do.
The two were dismissed and Stardot was given instructions that the next day, her and the other slaves that were being gifted to Fox would leave and prepare the new manor for the newly weds. Stardot and Seeker were given the evening free of duties. Distraught, Stardot tried her best to console Seeker. Swearing up and down that she would rather herself go than her daughter. Stardot also confessed that she felt she was to die soon any way, her body failing to recover. This only made Seeker more inconsolable. Regardless, the two spent the rest of the night together. When Seeker woke up in her mothers room the next day, she was gone. Numb, Seeker completed her duties and at the end of the day she slept. The next few weeks passed in this stupor for the mare before her mind began to come back. That was when her plan began to form, she would free her mother and herself from such a class based system.
Slowly she began to find openings to visit her mother. The mare seemed relatively fine, given the circumstances. She even seemed to shy from Seeker’s plan when she finally brought her mother into the fold. The final straw was sparked with another visit to her mother. Her poor, weak mother’s face was marred with bruises and even a couple burns. She told of how Fox had attempted a move to his wife but she claimed that had to see if she was with child, enraged he found Stardot. With her now inflamed temper and anger Seeker knew it time to set her plan in motion. Two more days, two oh so very long days it took for Seeker to gather, steal and hide supplies for her and her mother to get along outside of Aodh. Finally she was ready.
Dusk was settling when she made her way to Fox’s land, everything set to slip out and vanish. Stardot knew she was coming sometime soon and to be on the lookout during the evening. As Seeker watched and waited she grew more nervous as her mother failed to make an appearance. On the verge of abandoning this now seemingly futile endeavor, another slave she recognized came out. Instantly Seeker could feel in her heart that something was amiss. The slave seemed to be searching around, eyeing the grounds for something and when the whisper came, she knew from Bernard’s estate.
‘Seeker.... Seeker where are you’ Quickly she revealed herself and the slave sullenly approached. Spilling her tale of Stardot’s demise brought tears to the slave’s eyes but Seeker’s remained dry. Something was breaking within as she was told that Stardot had been found sneaking small trinkets to pawn and had been beat ruthlessly, leading to her death. The slave apologized over and over again before a straight backed Seeker told her that was enough, nothing had been her fault. A fire roiled in her gut as she made her way to the doors of the estate. Flabbergasted the slave took off after her, yelling, but she had already passed the entrance. Seeker began to gallop through the home, not knowing where she was going but she was enthralled about taking revenge upon Fox. Although something was broken inside, something was also growing hard, growing strong. She was quickly halted by slaves and guards before she ever reached anything other than slaves quarters. Seeker was returned to her own owner who promptly disciplined her but not unkindly. As grief, horror and anxiety filled Seekers life she had found her workload had slowly been lightened although she found some slight comfort in the mundane tasks now. Seeker was thankful for her owner and the slight kindnesses he bestowed upon his slaves. The loss of her mother changed Seeker into a more quiet and observant horse, keeping others away from her true self.
Months passed as her sadness grew less pronounced and she could think of her mother without tears she had noticed Fox was coming about the manor more and more. Other house slaves would scurry her away before anything could happen, that was until Seeker was summoned to Bernard’s office. Cold, she knew why and as soon as she entered it was confirmed. Bernard alone told her of how his son now demanded the daughter of his pleasure slave to take her place and he needed his son to stay with his wife. He told her how he would send another slave with her to protect her in secret but Seeker knew no such thing would happen. Silently she took the news and seemed to accept her fate and the mare even considered going to Fox’s estate to deliver revenge herself. Yet she found the thought vile, she simply was not the vengeful type at the end of the day. The thought came to her of her hidden away treasures and her plan to escape the melancholy life of slave-hood. Soon a plan was formed yet again and she began to steal and squirrel away even more goods. The night before she plundered the kitchens and wondered about how silent the grounds were that night. She saw no patrol or late night slave prepping or cleaning. It was too quiet about the manor grounds and she grew nervous but as she slunk away nobody stopped her. Quickly but trying to maintain an attitude less like a slaves she made her way through the streets and quickly escaped, finally free.
Out on her own was terrifying and more than once she considered returning but she knew that would never end well so she stuck with life in the wilds. Seeker pawned off all the high end goods to vagabonds and merchants passing by her from time to time. She visited small towns and inns and things she knew she would never had seen had she not run away but she still couldn’t shake the feeling like she was still owned. That her master would seek her out and drag her back, or Fox would hunt her down and end her right her in the open but more and more time passed. She learned more every day, some fellow vagabonds were kind enough to teach her skills she desperately needed. Where to avoid, what can be eaten, safe water, even how to start a fire but she learned and she learned she loved it. Her natural curiosity in Aodh grew only more insatiable out here in the free air. Seeker rarely stayed out, much like most of her fellow herdless but the mare never even made an official home for herself. Living by daylight and finding shelter at night and she loved it. Deep inside she knew this was where she was meant to be but a hollowness stayed, like something was missing and she assumed it was the fact she was supposed to be with her mother.
Seeker dealt with the bittersweetness of her freedom by living her life to the fullest. She found sunsets and especially sunrises truly comforting and would go well out of her way to enjoy a grand view of one. On just a such day where she raced up a steep incline to a barren rock plateau to view the suns awakening she learned a dire lesson. Though exhilarating freedom was, there was still danger. She reached the top just fine and enjoyed a spectacular view of a sunrise. Beautiful and breathtaking she lost all focus save for the sun and its spectacle it was giving her when sudden weight landed upon her back. A deep, dark pain erupted across the front of her neck and in turmoil she bucked and spun hoping to removed her attacker. The weight was gone just as quickly as it had appeared and she tried to flee. She felt something collide with her side and send her down the steeper part of the outcrop she had been upon. In her decent she slammed into rocks and old logs and eventually she blacked out.
What she learned was days later, she awoke. Sore beyond imagining and in someone’s strange hovel of a home. (I wanna find someone to fill this) Her caretaker was thrilled to see that mare had made it through such dire injuries. The extent she found out when she tried to speak. She was raspy and pain exploded in a kaleidoscope of lights when she simply tried to ask what had happened. Her savior told her not to speak just yet. Her windpipe may had been damaged in a crushing bite of a cougar and a large jagged slash had also accompanied the crunch across her neck. She would be fine but it had been oh so close to a finale of Seekers story.
She stayed with her new friend as she healed, helping where she could. Soon her throat healed and her pretty voice she had feared would be gone did indeed return to normal. A livid scar tore across her neck and would remain for her life. Though she was ever grateful to the horse for the help they gave given her, saving her life. Seeker began to feel an itch that she had lived with back in Aodh for so long. The need to move and explore, to seek out need grounds and knowledge. Bidding her dear savior goodbye she continued her journey.
Adulthood / Current Group History
Seeker still wondered the world, taking in all sorts of sights. On a winter night she found herself in Onea. Looking back she had to wonder how she ended up there as she knew of the night of Bloodletting that occurred in that region. She found herself in a group of horses trying to reach the safety of Skeldr town. Accompanied by Ryan, Alois, Shiann and Cassidy. The weather grew fierce as they found out they were being pursued. Shiann was injured and Cassidy was heavy with foal, it became clear to Seeker she needed to help, starting what she affectionately called her hero complex. However they were separated and Seeker was lucky to have been torn off with Shiann. Injured as she was Seeker could only drive her on by voice. The group witnessed horror that night with the death of Cassidy and the overtaking of her unborn foal. The group was free to go spread the nightmare of the cultists. They made their way to Skeldr and Seeker stuck to Shiann, too afraid to spend the night alone. (Chapter 1)
They stayed together for sometime after that, the rest of the group stayed someone together after such trauma. Seeker found Shiann comforting and she seemed to tolerate Seekers itch to wonder. The two grew close, leaving their relationship as something unspoken but Seekers heart grew inexplicably fond of the mare. Soon the group heard rumors of the vile cultists in the area yet again. Struck by the need to move but afraid to do so the group pooled their resources and hired mercenaries to escort them through the dangerous wilds. This didn’t stop the star bears that attacked them. The group fought bravely to defeat the Ursa bears and progressed in their travels.(Chapter 2)
Feeling their combined presence was bringing bad luck upon them, they separated. Even Shiann and Seeker parted ways as their desires took them in different directions. This actually hurt Seekers heart and the same displaced pain from her early vagabond days returned. Seeker traveled for some time alone, hoping to figure herself out but soon enough she found her path headed to the general area she thought Shiann would be. In this time Seeker crosses paths with a cultist that chilled her to the bone. A red tan mare named Voidra found Seeker alone and taunted her in passing. Making remarks about her scar, giving her details that no one knew. Not even her savior from so long ago. She finished it off with a last chilling comment about cougars and shown her dual unicorn horns that could leave marks like a bite or slash. Connecting the dots that Voidra had left for her mind she figured that her injuries had not come from a wild cat but from this evil mare before her. Seeker tore off, Voidra taunted her by chasing her but only for a short time. Seeker never stopped until she absolutely had to and practically collapsed from exhaustion. She never told anyone thus far.
Seeker continued to wander the grounds where she heard of Shiann’s being. This brought the fabled bad luck group suddenly back together. A bright flash was suddenly lighting the world in front of them and a Kirin laid before them, proof of the mythical tales of their existence.(Chapter 3)
After the startling return of the fire breed, Seeker and Shiann stayed together. Spending their time roaming around in hopes of location Shiann’s family which she had learned they had vanished. Both were used to the ways of the wild life but a unusually hard storm made them seek out shelter. They quickly found an inn that neither knew was even in the area. Needing safety they quickly hurried inside only to find Rynn inside. All parts felt the heavy breath of luck once again and before too long odd things began to begin. The group and a few others, including Kirin, were sealed inside and made to solve puzzles to be released. Even after they were free, a weirdness cling to the world.(Chapter 4)
Shiann and Seeker continued their unanchored ways and wondered about. This ominous feeling constantly hanging over the girls. As luck haunted them, a horrendous snow storm struck seemingly out of nowhere causing the two be split. Having dealt with such things before, Seeker found shelter and knew after it would pass the two would reunite. This was not the case, Shiann was nowhere to be found and with the snowfall any tracks were gone. Seeker hung around the area in hopes of finding her girl but she was simply no where. She even had thoughts that the storm had claimed Shiann but she simply felt that to be untrue and nobody had presented itself even after the snowfall melted. After the Snow was finally gone, Seeker took off and continues to search for Shiann.(Prior and after Chapter 5)
