For some time now I wanted to practice some landscape with water. inspired me today by painting this and I tried it too.
The forest line was harder than I thought but all in all studying it was more fun than sweat and tears
In the end I found myself drawing single grass blades. I didn't think I would do this before I started.

Nice work! I think you captured the textures and overall feel of the landscape brilliantly.

You're welcome Really good job. All shapes are in place (unlike on mine study...) and the treeline is really well defined and reads great. .
Overall it's very good so its hard to give some constructive critiques, but i'll try to find some minor things. Your foreground, which is closer to the viewer, looks less detailed than the far background, probably because of those big soft smudges (ofc I know: not enough time, but just sayin'). Also your foreground as a whole looks brighter because of those big orange spots while the reference has a darker feel with more brown/red (I know, same reason ).

Thx!
Not that accurate though if you compare to reference, I made lake bigger for instance You're right about sharpness of the foreground (still u managed to give the feeling of sharpness with a nice brush) but you're not right about the colours - it's not the lack of time. I failed cause I was so lost in that crazy saturation and texture, really don't know, but I felt like my eyes will pop out and couldn't see differences properly I still had more time.

Ye, I know that feeling when after spending a lot of time on looking at the painting you begin to have hard time to actually see anything But your colours are really good. It's just the big, soft splats that make it feel different, because on the reference there are rather orange details (straws) over a bit darker background, so it just comes to the level of detail you can manage to get in this short time. Speaking about colours, now I see your sky is for some reason a bit less blue (or rather more green) than the ref, but more importantly than your reflection (which in nature would more like go the opposite way - at least I think so...).

Hmm. As I look at the sky and water at the reference now, I can see the same effect so it's either something with my eyes or my screen or it's just how it is on the photo. Please check it and let me know how you see it.
Now after a break I can see clearly what you mean when talking about my foreground. Completely agree.

Or maybe with my display or my eyes... Well it was a tiny difference without any importance anyways, so it doesn't matter at all Ehh... You made me curious, so I decided to check with colour picker and it seems to back me up But now when I think about it, I remember that just several days ago I had some problems with my images colour profiles, so maybe it's something like this again... Why did I even mention it, if it really doesn't matter?
