Dang, that's realistic. When I get a dog, this is one of the dogs I have on the list.
Guessing it took time right?

WARNING! Carry on reading! Or you will die, even if you only looked at the word warning! Once there was a little girl called Clarissa, she was ten-years-old and she lived in a mental hospital, because she killed her mom and her dad. She got so bad she went to kill all the staff in the hospital so the More-government decided that best idea was to get rid of her so they set up a special room to kill her, as humane as possible but it went wrong the machine they were using went wrong. And she sat there in agony for hours until she died. Now every week on the day of her death she returns to the person that reads this letter, on a monday night at 12:00a.m. She creeps into your room and kills you slowly, by cutting you and watching you bleed to death. Now send this to ten other pictures on this one site, and she will haunt someone else who doesn't. This isn't fake. apparently, if u copy and paste this to ten comments in the next ten minutes u will have the best day of ur life tomorrow. u will either get kissed or asked out, if u break this chain u will see a little dead girl in your room tonight. in 53

thats so beautiful.

i was wondering, im writing a novel about a bernese mountain dog named Ayoona, and her father, John.
they are shipwrecked on an island and meet many other islander-dogs.
my question is, would it be ok if i used this as the cover artwork? (you will get credit, of course.) i understand if you say no.

thanks!

I am flattered that you would want to use this as cover artwork for your novel, but since I drew this piece using a photograph reference, I would feel uncomfortable if you did so. I don't recall where I found the photograph or who the photographer was, so I am unable to give credit to them for the original picture. I feel like I would need their permission before a drawing I did based on their photograph was used in a published work. Sorry. D:

Good luck with the novel writing though!

This is oh so gorgeous....I've always wanted one- I like dogs from the working, sporting, and/or toy group. They're such wonderful companions!

InkAJen In reply to DemoDog [2009-02-16 02:35:18 +0000 UTC]

I think those two have the ideal groups of dogs. It's just a bit of a pain that they very rarely get picked as 'best in show' at dog shows....I'm not saying the other dogs don't deserve it- but I'd like to see some variety. Only once have I seen a Siberian Husky win. I'm waiting for the Bernese Mountain Dog to win. They're adorable and practical a well as friendly.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DemoDog In reply to InkAJen [2009-02-16 03:12:50 +0000 UTC]

Oh, they win all the time. If you go to smaller dog shows (they're held all year round at various locations) you'll see all different breeds winning best in show. But it does seem that all the larger ones shown on TV usually end up picking the same breeds. Oh well. XD

InkAJen In reply to DemoDog [2009-02-19 19:11:41 +0000 UTC]

yeah, it's a bit depressing that there really isn't much variation. I think the poodle has one of the biggest advantages of winning.

This drawing is good! I especially the love the eyes and the nose, and the detail just underneath the nose, how you made it a little darker.

It's beautiful!! Bernese Mountain Dogs are my favourite breed of all breeds! Just a quick question when you take a pic of an animal or person or whatever, do you start making an outline, and then inprove on it (ie. Circles and lines) Or do you not bother and go strait into the pic?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DemoDog In reply to CreativeSpark [2007-06-16 22:54:55 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! I love Bernese Mountain dogs too. ^^ I actually start drawing with circles and lines to get the anatomy and perspective of the animal first, and then I add in the details, and after that shading/coloring. :3

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

CreativeSpark In reply to DemoDog [2007-06-16 23:03:14 +0000 UTC]

GOOD! Cause that's the only way I know how to draw, and if you went without an outline there would be no hope for me. My goal is to draw like you, with all the detail and shading but I'm not quite there yet... Where did you learn to draw?! That's one of the best hand drawn pics of a Bernese that I've ever seen!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DemoDog In reply to CreativeSpark [2007-06-17 15:58:25 +0000 UTC]

I've been drawing since I could hold a pencil. X3 I learned mostly from copying other's work and pictures until I developed my own style, I guess. I also learned from reading drawing books, anatomy books and such. My art teacher in middle school taught me a lot of things. I drew this picture and my other portraits from photographs, but my more cartoony stuff is not directly referenced. The most important thing, and I can't stress this enough, is PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE. That's the main thing that will help you improve your artwork!

Also, thank you so much for all the compliments. The things that you have said to me make me feel so good. ^^
