i dont really know if i like this...its actually a small snipet with some minor edits of a bigger piece ive been working on, but i honestly dont lke the big piece. thats why its so damn small.
please please please fucking critique this.

more detail in the asteroids (or ships?) and more contrast in the background (or just darken it)
other than that: great! would be glad if i can do compareable, especially at the planet.

Eh, here's some critique. I personally like it, tho if I was to do a scene like this, I'd rotate the shadow of the bigger planet to the right a bit. It just seems this way to me. Also, the outer glow seems too dizzy, you can reduce it's opacity so that it's not that bold. That goes to the inner lightning, too, but not that much. The texture of the planet deserves to be seen!

I actually don't agree with lotay. I think especially the planet texture could use work, it looks quite boring and monotone, same for the colors. The text placement is bad imo, the text itself looks awful 
other than that I like the feeling of depth in this piece and the decent flow supported by the flying comets. I think the placement of the moon is okay, but the lighting on it seems kinda weird.

well i see two things that you prob dont like....
1) the planets are not the usual detailed planets you make.. MORE DETAIL PLZ
2) random fog/cloud stuff over the entire image just makes it feel low quality....
thats just my opinion feel free to kill me

I like how linear it is, if that makes any sense whatsoever. I'm a bit drunk so excuse any complete randomness. But the angle everything seems to be moving at is a nice touch.
The colors blend also blend very well, IMO
And disturbingly, especially considering I'm now officially in my mid-twenties.. I'm still quite the perv, and the comets/meteors kind of look like sperm on steroids hauling serious ass... lol

Heh.. I do it every night, I'm just usually not still surfing DA when I get to the point I was last night... LOL.
Of course, with this new laptop... that might change... Especially considering I bought this little dinky ass mouse for it... its not wireless because I hate the delay and lack of precision, but the cord wraps around the mouse and then snaps into place on the bottom... and this thing has enough power in it that I've got the CS3 suite installed. Now that I no longer have to use DA as my only online gallery, I might take all references to it off, at which point, theres really no telling what I might upload here... heh

I like the text placement, the planet texture is quite good (wish I can find time to make some) and the angle of lighting works well, although it could be a bit darker in the shadow of the planet. IMO the moon looks a little outta of place, maybe placing it else where could work, like the small comet effects, overall well done although I would say more should be added but you've already said it's a snippet.

the lighting on the planet? i actually just figured it out today!
i dont know how you create the atmosphere on your planets, but i use a black circle matching the texture, add blening effects, and then set the blend mode to screen (removing the black). to get that effect, duplicate the atmosphere layer and set the blend mode to color dodge. it doesnt work on every planet, most of mine actually failed, but it did on this one.

AHH! got it. its actually light rays coming from the light source in the larger piece. a group of clouds i think using a radial blur filter set on zoom and 100% intensity. i think it would also work with using Gaussian blur on a duplicated layer of the stars
