Better make friends with your past.Shes always growing...
Inspired by a supporter, Alex @lexluther141 who sent me a lovely tweet, and when I saw her I just had to draw her!
So this is a 2 speed paint based on a photo of her, but with my own twist thrown in of course
I'm dealing with my past a lot at the moment, and yeah, trying to make friends with it - as it is only getting bigger as I go along!
I know always say 'oh I'll have some proper polished art soon' and I still hope too - but at the moment things are still a little tricky with my art-making, and I don't want to force myself or anything, so I'm taking it as it comes and keeping up my sketching

ART CRITIQUE

Negative:
The only bits i can pick out of this are the hair and the strap. The hair while keeping in mind the style of how you've drawn this piece is at the points where they are tips or edges where they stick out the right (her left) is too pointed it needs to be more rounded because it makes it look abit too clean pointed sort of making not fit the rest of the piece is it matched the other side with the rounding of the edge i think it would fit much better even is it was a symetrical also the edge leading upto this point is way too straight it needs a little wave or bump in it making it rougher for that more realistic look. The strap on the right (her left side) of her chest seems to curve off which is fine but it almost seems like it is detached from the garment she is wearing. I think either making it more defined with the black or focus on it broken if it's meant to be or not or focus on it not i think then it would work better. There is skin colour coming out into the hair on the right (her left) if it's meant to be that sharp i think it needs some 3D or persepctive work on it so it looks like the side of her head or blended or not so much of the colour i think.
Positive:
I love how the light and dark of this really come out the contrast between it. Once agian another well drawn and inspired piece, I like how it's not perfect with symetry which gives it a real feel to it without having to draw in a real way if that makes any sense? I love how the nostrils don't look exactly the same (sorry to the model for using the nostrils!) XD but it's good to see things are the same but still well drawn The use of blurring is well used i think i have picked you up on blurring before where it wasn't quite right before good job! 
Summary:
You do light very well but i notice how well you do dark aswell the depth of the dark is incredible which makes me happy that an artist dares to go as dark as i like to see the black is so deep it's like it's a balck hole reall makes me stare at it so few artists go this dark. I like the A symetrical of this so much i would like to see it in all your work even the back ground has some blemishes which is great! Use of randomness can make a piece i do feel that you concentrated on the right side for the lack of symetry which is fine i think it should be mixed up for other pieces to keep it fresh so focus on say for example in this pic the ears being different on the right then the shoulders the left should be ascew so it is mixed up. You could go in a series like right hand side is ascew, next piece the left, then next piece the top, then the next piece the bottom, you could use the compass using all directions N S E W Then the diagonals singularly of together you could use a system of two left to right ascew these are all just ideas but there's so much you could add to other pieces.
Personal Note:
The Past something i've been focusing on alot then you do this piece it's always odd how you seem to do a piece on what i'm thinking about at the time it comes out. I've been embracing the dark side of me more than rejecting it taming it to make me whole again.
I wonder if Blue is doing the same? (you don't ever have to answer that if you don't want to)

I don't know how I missed this for the last few days, but this is gorgeous. I love the dark tones and subtle points of lighter shades in the leaves on the branches. Interesting to see you using a darker palette to your usual preferences, but still maintaining highlights of your preferred shade of turquoise that connects it to your other works and keeps it connected to your previous portfolio.
Stunning work as ever Miss Blue, and I hope you're doing well. I hope to see you in the new year, I've really missed seeing you in person this year, but I would obviously prefer knowing you were taking care of yourself. Still, hoping to be able to give you cuddles when I see you next time xx
