I went to New York City and walked into Bloomingdales department store there and I had noticed that they were displaying a lot of the white plastic mannequins that have no faces and also noticed that the really ugly silver ones are now becoming popular too and felt disappointed as I was hoping to get some nice shots. But somehow I decided to go through the other floors to see if there were any of their old models left and was relieved to see this one with a few others that were the only pretty ones that were left I would say there was about 10 of them and the weird thing is they seemed to be altogether in just that one part of the store. LuLupoo who was with me thought the same. It's as if they were saying this is the last of us. so I took a shot of these ones before they would also become obsolete. I get this vision in my head that one Bloomingdales dept store will discard them. I like the pretty red wig on this one although her beautiful eyes seem to be hiding with the long bangs.Related content

Had to cut it short , then now I just went to get a hair cut and damn the lady messed up my bangs , she cut it way too short ;(

I have no idea how you do it, but you add so much life to your mannequins that I look at them completely differently nowadays! And this is a perfect example. A wonderful capture, Melissa!
And I so agree about the ugly silver ones, no love has gone into making them, no pride, and it shows.

Aww, that's sad when stores discontinue a much loved older model in favor of another that is plainer and probably a lot cheaper for the store to buy. Maybe you can talk to the manager of Bloomingdale's and give him your name and number and tell him that if and when he decides to discard these manniquins that you would love to have them. If they are just getting rid of them, maybe they will give them to you for free, or at a discounted price if they are just going to throw them away.

Yes for me it is as I am such a great lover of mannequins. They have such an eternal beauty about them. And this is true stores just don't want to put out the money for the more beautiful ones. Some are between $1500 and more for the better and more beautiful ones. I never thought of asking them that question but maybe when I go back there again I will ask and see what they say. Yes, I hope they will be reasonable and give you the mannequins if they just going to discard them. Maybe you can start up your own mannequin showroom at home!
