Some stuff I did yesterday - not really an unexpected story (knight, village, bridge and horse), but at least something to post.Thanks for taking a minute to watch it.

Beautiful village. A bridge leading into a forest... It's gorgeous! It almost reminds me of Hayao Miyazaki's work (Castle In the Sky in particular), in which he merges time periods and interesting places and makes them work beautifully. The buildings look relatively newer than the era that a traditional knight would be from, but it still works beautifully together.

Yeah, I have difficulties with lighting and textures. Do you take textures from photos or use brushes? I've seen lots of your stuff on CGTalk and CGHub and I love it all. Keep it up.

not really. Just use a bit of heres and theres
Basically I use both. But this always depends on my specific needs. Its a pretty good thing to have your own image library.
You coukd use those for texturing and creating some brushes as well. And you didn't get in "license" trouble

Very nice job on this, great atmosphere and colors. The buildings look a bit like they belong to a much later era, but it's awesome anyway
