I think the new version 1.7.7 has opened a wide range of experimenting with DIF formulas but as you say needs much time and RAM to dedicate!

This vaguely reminds me of a surface scan or high power microscope view of a very complex integrated chip, before it is "wrapped" in silicon, with the addition of some abnormality that is absolutely intriguing.
