Before Leo was able to plan their attack, Vlad had already transformed and was ready to pounce on the unknowing city guards. The other guard watched as, within seconds of him blinking, his comrade was brutally murdered by the strange hairy creature. He dropped his sword and tried to run but a vampiric form stopped him. Leos leathery hand grasped the trembling guard's helmet and slowly took it off. "w-what are you?" the terrified man asked Leo. The vampire looked deep into the mans eyes placed a finger on his lips and told him softly "I'll make it quick" and with that Leo snapped the man's neck and ripped his head from his lifeless body. Before leaving Vlad grabbed the guards decapitated head and bit in as if it were an apple, he then proceeded to put it in his bag. "A snack for the road" Vlad laughed. They dumped the corpses in the river and ran off to the forest for shelter until morning. As Vlad opened his blood encrusted eyes he found a small kitten licking the blood off his face. He picked up the small creature and was ready to make it another one of his victims. Leo awoke just in time to save the defenseless feline and snatched it from Vlad's deadly grasp. Leo held the kitten in his arms as if he were its mother, protecting it from harm. "What the hell do you think you're doing?!" Leo screamed. Vlad looked at his friend completely confused "I was going to kill it, whats your problem?" Leo stared at his comrade in utter disgust "WE KILL OUT OF NECESSITY, NOT FOR SPORT!! That's what keeps us from becoming real monsters. I cant believe you would- ugh never mind" Leo then put down the animal and instructed it to leave. The kitten followed orders and ran into the woods. As soon as the animal left Leo turned and told Vlad to stay put as he gathered supplies in town. As Leo gathered as much food, camping, and hunting supplies, Vlad contemplated his actions and made up a plan to get to his estranged grandmother. Leo came back to the campsite looking like a donkey on the hill, his arms so filled with bags and baskets he could barely walk. He put down all the necessities, exhausted beyond compare. "I don't know how you peasants do this everyday. How was your DA-" His sentence cut short by Vlad's lips pressing against his mouth and his body being pushed against the tree. Vlad put his arms around Leo's waist and rested his head on his shoulder. "I'm so sorry. I should've realized how monstrous I was being especially compared to someone of your status." Leo patted his back "It's fine, I already forgave you, but before you sit down may I ask, why did you kiss me?" Vlad sat down snickering to himself and whittling some wood. "You upperclassmen are always looking for some hidden meaning. In the town where I come from all the wolves share affection as a way to show emotional support for one another. Now, lets get some sleep." They laid down and as Vlad turned his back Leo saw the glimmer of a tear fall on Vlad's cheek.
