The simplest you could think of since I use paint!
Basically I first trace over my old drawings with better anatomical features, then I refine the lines and work at different parts of the animal to get what I want.
I use many different references I search for online to help me get the "mostly" accurate features of the animal correct.
Different brightly colored lines are used so I can tell what needs to be changed or not. Then I change the lines to black so finalize the line art and check closely if there was anything I missed. Pixel wise...
After all the lines are done, I then use selected colors from my old drawings and closely transfer the colors/pattern design to the finished lines.
It takes me 4-5 hours at a time to get each "digital" piece done. It may be on a simple program but I like to make the anatomical features as eye pleasing as possible. For my skill level anyway.
In the future as I've said though for digitals in my journal last year, I'll be trying to expand what details I add as I change letters. So that number could change to be longer.
