Thank you!
I don't remember anymore how long it took, hehe... But normal portraits without backgrounds are quite simple and easy to draw in my opinion.

You know, I think there is two types of german shepherds. From the two I have I noticed that their faces have really different structures. One has a thin muzzle and a really wolf-like face, like your drawling, and she's a bit more muscled. The other has a rounder snout with larger jowls, and she's slimmer. Any idea why that might be?

I've heard that one type of the German shepherds is called Alsatian and according to the owner of this dog, Abbey is an Alsatian. If I remember right, Alsatians have developed in the UK and that's where you can see them. Unfortunately I don't know more about the different types of this breed. I believe some German shepherd owners can tell you more.
I think it's quite usual that the same dog breed can look a bit different in different countries. When a dog breed lives isolated in one particular area, they can develop in the long run. For example, dogs who live in very cold areas will most likely have a thicker fur than their "breed fellows" in some warm countries. Once I met a toller from Norway and I was surprised to see how different he looked compared to my own toller. Both the fur colouring and head shape were very different. Also people can breed their dogs depending on if they want work or show type dogs. Maybe the more muscled German shepherd is originally a work type dog?
