Oh my god this is amazing, thorin <3 Amazing work, its so good to see some traditional work. Ive always wanted to be able to draw people traditionally but i fail pretty much everytime. His clothing hair and eyes, just everything is perfect about this. I think the only thin i would critique here would be his ear on the left. It seems to be a tad flat there but other than that good work!

I am so glad the pastel-drawing turned out so well, since it was only my secound attempt drawing with them...personally it's actually more easy for me than drawing with coloured pencils
glad you like it, and glad it is only his ear (and thothing more xD) that is a bit odd. I'll try to fix that!

haha he was my all time favorite in the hobbit! I loved his character, and was so glad he didn't die!

ANYWAY!

I like the coloring and the detail shown. His eyes are so beautiful!!! I like what he's wearing too, makes him look older and more superior

one thing I don't get though is the coloring- the teal shading? Although me and my sister both like the shading you did to the hair. dont get me wrong, the teal looks awesome around his face and such. JW.

I don't really like the background sheet- maybe photoshop another background? I dunno, I'm not good at changing backgrounds But the old paper does remind me of the old days when they had orange paper with black letters in storiebooks

actually, this teal glow comes from taking the photograf of this image...I guess there was some light reflecting on the pastels :/

oh...damn :'D since the original painting is traditional, I'd be quite hard to change the bg So I simply take an other colour next time

THORRIIINNNNNN!! Ahaa, he's one of my favourite characters of the movie/book. I just love his demeanor. OKAY, onto the 'critique' In quotes cause this isn't going to be much of a critique I really like the blue glow coming from off canvas, it really adds some depth to the picture and it's unique. I like his too big eyes as well, but the angle of one of them seems a bit off when compared to the other. I kinda like the big eyes though! His hair could be a bit softer, but you've made it flow really well! I really love all the detail you put into this, on the beard and even the lips and his clothing too. Another well done picture!

I guess this blue glow is actually coming from taking the foto of it :'D somewhat a reflection on the pastels ....
you like them thogh they're too big? O.o wow, happy to hear so! Strangely, it's far more easy for me to draw right eyes than left ones ^^

Hey, nicht jammern, stolz sein!

Das Bild ist wirklich verdammt schön geworden auch wenn du Recht hast, dass die Augen ein bisschen zu groß sind. Ich meine, schau es dir doch nochmal genau an!
Du hast den Hautton super schön hingekriegt und auch die Schatten in seinem Gesicht, die Details auf seiner Kleidung, in seinen Haaren und so weiter sind mMn richtig toll. Das ist ein Bild was man sich gerahmt an die Wand hängt und lieb hat.

Außerdem machst du mir Mut, dass es sich noch lohnt (nach gefühlten 1 Millionen anderen) auch ein Bild von Thorin zu posten...

Ich hab meine Bilder alle lieb und neben den offiziellen Bandpostern/Tourplakaten (Doors, G'n'R, Rolling Stones, Bowie) hängt sämtliche halbwegs präsentable Fan Art an der Wand. Auch ein Haufen Zeichnungen, die ich hier mal noch posten sollte von wegen LotR und Hobbit und so...

Nö, nicht unbedingt... vor allem nicht beim Prequel, aber das hängt eh immer davon ab, ob ich dieses Kriterium bei dem jemand als wichtig erachte und WER man war (z.B: Christopher Lee, der war echt alles, was cool ist: Sherlock Holmes, Dracula, bei Star Wars UND bei LotR u. Hobbit. 8D).
Namenlose Nebencharaktere sind auch immer cool und ich mag SW, von daher...
