But he never, ever came back.

And so, to this day, she waits and keeps his home protected, so it may be beautiful for the day when he is in her arms again.

I was having some serious art constipation after buying some vellum at the art store, until the Pocahontas OST provided a small amount of inspiration, as well as Avatar.
So, Painted Lady fanart!
And not of the Katara persuasion. The original one.

I named her He An -- "River Peace" -- and saw her as a somewhat tragic figure. She had a boyfriend who was called away to war, and she promised that she would wait for him there. Well, the poor dear never came back. ;_;

Definitely inspired by some of *Isaia 's arts, like "Duel of the Sun and Moon." I'd be lucky if this was as totally inspired as any of her work. I tried!
