I'm not sure if there was a UK release, but most people play the same ROM

*Actually, there are two ROM that differ by a few kb. That's just the theft protection.

ROM? return of mother I'm guessing? I only know them from smash bros. and nintendo magazine.. I've never played metroid either, I used to think Mother Brian was from earthbound!

ROM stands for Read-Only Memory. It's what games are. Not Return of Mother. And the game is called Mother because Itoi (the director) wanted an original name. I'd really suggest you play Mother/Earthbound. It's worth it.

There are some monsters. But it's not a sole focus of the game. And Pokey/Porky Minch is indeed the villain.

Actually he's in the machine min Mother 3, but he's in person in Mother2.

oh, now I remeber, that creepy giant walking statue in smash bros. that turns into porky minch! omg, that was so creepy! Wario is the only vilian who has genuine malice, though, i mean, tricking little ness into heroicly saving lucas.. big bully

The statue was in Mother 3, but Pokey wasn't in it. He was in a tower, but I suppose that what they did in Brawl was acceptable, seeing as they couldn't go in Pokey's tower.

The tower I'm talking about is the reeeaaaaally tall one in the background of New Pork City.

awesome! I'm guessing the whole pork theme came from that "I'm not weird, just origanl" director? its quite cool really! LOL, what if had directed mario? Maybe the world's greatest gaming hero would be a golf-bag with wings or something! XD
