Just a dumb idea I had a day or two ago.... XD

I just had a random idea of 'what if Mephiles and Shadow were swapped?' and decided to try drawing it... I didn't really want to draw a dulled, mouthless version of Shadow though, so I decided to swap Iblis as well, so I wouldn't be drawing just four different versions of shadow with slight differences.... XD

....not to mention I needed to practice drawing fire.... XD

So I guess in this AU, Mephiles would be the half-alien angst-hog while Shadow would be the irritable flame of disaster/fire demon

...I also figured it would be kinda boring if there personalities were swapped too, so they aren't. Mephiles is still a manipulative little sh*t, and Shadow is still kinda angsty and short-tempered.

the two definitely don't get along at all, with Mephiles constantly taunting Shadow/Iblis while the latter is always attempting to burn him to ashes for the taunting. *Mephiles' team oftentimes has to remind him 'not to taunt the fire demon' but he usually ignores them...*

Also, in the cutscenes I noticed that Iblis doesn't seem to have the most... stable of forms, usually a giant magma monster or just a head with flames... so I decided the same would be with Shadow. His powers are too unstable and volatile to take on a mobian form, so he's stuck as a kind of 'flame elemental', only able to stabilize his powers with a chaos emerald, and even then it's still pretty uncontrollable, so it takes multiple for his form to stop being so unstable and melting.

As such though, he's kind of a pushover without an emerald. if he uses too much of his powers he'll risk burning out and being reduced to nothing but ashes. When he's without an emerald he's usually pretty easy to deal with, as a simple threat of a squirt bottle tends to freak him out.

..he also still has amnesia sometimes, so he can't really remember the name of his other half/brother, and can't remember where they were sealed, so aside from when he has an emerald he's really not that big of a threat...

Mephiles on the other hand, is a manipulative, violent little sh*t. He doesn't work for G.U.N, oftentimes uses his words to manipulate someone into giving him what he wants, and tends be a lot more violent when dealing with threats than the other heroes are. Despite his issues though, he's not all that bad sometimes, helping his teammates out, and protecting the world from threats and such, but he isn't against turning sides if it suits him (though he'll usually go back to helping after a bit, oftentimes for no apparent reason, confusing everyone around) He also has a pet lizard, which he's spoiled considerably and oftentimes uses it to scare people (mostly by hiding it in a cookie jar or a cabinet)
