How did you go about making the grey back panel the straps go through?  I'm making my harness and I'm stuck on that part ><

I drew out a pattern for it on paper and I kind of put it on my body and saw if it looked right or not. Altered the shape a little bit till I got it mostly right and cut it out of vinyl.

how did you manage to sew the straps? i'm having an issue with mine. i'm having to pull the material as i sew because it won't just slide through the machine, is there anything that i can buy or any tips you can give me on actually sewing the pleather/vinyl material?

AH YES. THIS WAS A PROBLEM!!! Baby powder is the answer. Put baby powder on all of the pleather material and it will slide under the presser foot properly. Hope this helps!

How much long of strap did you need for this?

How did you make the straps? Are they double sided pleather with the interfacing in between? The edges of the straps are very nice; it doesn't look like a raw cut. I'm going to make a harness for myself and your straps look very nice; I'd like to get a similar result with mine.

You are right! Except mine is triple folded. I actually plan on using the straps as the main strength behind attaching the 3D gear to myself. It's medium-weight interfacing ironed onto the back side of the pleather. I sewed down the entire length on both sides.

Triple folded? How so?

Most of the belts are 1 inch in width. I measured 3 inches in pleather and 2.9inches in interfacing (so the interfacing wont stick out over the pleather). I folded 1 inch of pleather/interfacing inward toward the center. I think took the other unfolded side and folded it over the first. I guess I should say you should think of it like how a letter is folded.

Ooh, that's genius! I was wondering how you got both sides to look so good. Thanks for the help!
