Sweet. I just wish there was a creepy stain like the one on the left across the picture frames. It would imply things that need to be implied if you're not familiar with Bluebeard...wait.

...counting, yes, there's seven picture frames. Is Fatima also pictured in the one on the bottom right? I don't think so, but it would have to be because Bluebeard didn't make it to 8 wives. Our fair girl Fatima was wife 7 and got widow status because her siblings were of the awesome and sword-wielding kind.

Still love that you're rocking the Bluebeard, though.

the version i knew growing up he had married 7 women before fatima so that's why i did that. but i do like that creepy stain across the picture frames idea... it'd make it eerie for sure.

Yay for different versions. It's still not Sleeping Beauty for me if the mother-in-law isn't an ogress that tries to eat her grandkids while their father (let's call him Shrek) is away at war. I always thought the 7th wife thing was a constant about Bluebeard, but maybe not. Bluebeard is a pretty widespread fairy-tale for such an obscure one. For example, I lived in Bretagne for a while, and they swear up and down the character was based on local 15th century villain Gilles de Rais, who fought with Jeanne d'Arc in the Hundred Years War but was later executed for the kidnapping, torture, and murder of (at bare minimum) 80 children. Makes 7 or 8 feel like chump change, doesn't it?

And eerie stains are always awesome...until they're in your cheap motel room at three in the morning, anyway.

Ta!
C.E.

It's a form of psychosis. Not understanding it means you're human, so you can feel good about that. Fortunately, people like that don't come around often..
