A new character for “Sweetgrass” whose culture is based on many different southwestern cultures and societies- but most namely the Zuni and ancestral Pueblo. Angry Ghost is my first and only albino character! The reason why I made him albino is because interestingly southwestern societies (especially the Hopi) have a much higher percentage of albinism. For the Hopi one person in 2,000 will be albino.

His headdress is based on the ancient Zuni symbol “sun face”. I’m in love with Zuni art- it’s so underrated but it’s truly one of the most recognizable and beautiful cultural styles of the Americas.

He is called “angry ghost” because he is in a perpetual state of squinting due to his sensitive eyes and living in the desert. His second name is quite self evident.
