Description Edward Gorey-- A MASTER of both macabre poetry and crosshatching lines. In art class, again, we attempted to copy his amazing style. Basically my Halloween piece.

If you want to look at the original, just search 'edward gorey' on google images, it should be on the first page or so.

Original (c) to Edward Gorey, this version (c) to me.

Wow. Great use of hatching/cross hatching to shade. This picture, being both black and white and done only in pen(?) gives a very minimalist yet powerful feel. I like the use of the curtain as a border and the man facing the opposite way. It really draws the attention to the girl and blocks.

What I would say to work on would be the block perspective (slightly skewed, especially with the letters) and the anatomy of the girl. Her eyes are odd looking because they don't appear to have a bottom, unless the bottom is the shaded line beneath each eye. The arms are also a little long in comparison to the legs as well.

But overall, you have a great use of detail, especially in the curtain and floor. It's a wonderful piece. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Big Grin)"/>
