Description And he showed me things
Not known to kings
And secret between him and me
Like the colours of the pheasant
As he rises in the dawn
And how to fish and make a wish
Beside the holly tree

John Mcdermott/The Old Man

Old town, Jaffa. Israel.
Shot with IR filter.

I love the darkness of this, it brings out the IR even better.
Wonderful job.

really good,
after i saw your work, i bought a Hoya R72 IR filter. But it won't really work for me, i can't get the whitebalance as i want. I red your tutorial, but it won't really work.
I've got a Nikon D50, if you have any tips i'd apriciate that .

Not until I tried IR myself did I realize how truly painstaking the process is. You have my respect, man; it's not easy. Brilliant work here.

Ive read your Journal on IR photography, and it prompted me to go and buy a IR filter.
I was wondering if you could prehaps do revised journal focusing on IR. If not i understand, it was a longshot.

in particular i didnt quite understand the channel mixing part you mentioned in your journal. i did it with my photos but it ended up with the exact same photo. hmmm

but yeah. any thoughts would be amazing

Great IR shot, I like the palm trees because of how much IR they let off. The one branch on the right that is illuminated really distracts me from the subject. Maybe try burning that out.

I'm planing to buy some filters to my camera. Which one would you recommend to buy first (say the names of filters you think are more important)?
