There's a difference between having a lot of symbolism and having good symbolism.

It's just a bunch of random quotes I made up from bits and pieces of actual Twilight text - way too many adjectives xD

Often, I wonder if these girls, or boys I guess, fill in those words that they have no real reason knowing at their age (Palatable, for instance) with their own little make believe words. Or if they just, think "Oh, it's Edward, it must mean something good."
I don't think I've ever seen one crack open a dictionary, anyway.
But anyway, I've heard the 'Twilight should be mandatory reading.' argument as well, to the point where I had a hard time holding in my laughter, someone actually told me something along the lines of "This Oedipus stuff is so old it doesn't even make sense! We should read Twilight its basically the same thing only better and more relate-able"
And then there are others who spout out how all writing is just entertainment and serves no purpose than that, so Twilight is the best at entertaining so it's the best literature. I just want to hold up my copies of Fahreinheit 451 or The Sun Also Rises and shove it in their face until they get it.
But then I realize they never will.

If I ever reverted to writing like Stephanie Meyer, I'd slit my throat.

I don't honestly think that it'd be possible for you to regress to THAT level. sinking to that level of fail would require the death of 99% of your brain cells. fo' sho.

LOL.
well, who has the right to choose what's called 'classic'?? mostly it's a bunch of white men deciding what's called 'classic' or not.
i think making twilight part of school reading would be a great idea: because people would actually become interested in reading, and from there, they could go on to read other books ^__^ <3. start from the perhaps silly, but popular books, and then go on for the crazy stuff like Heart of Darkness and stuff LOL
