Description I know I had this image up earlier in my gallery but I had a pang of guilt due to me being Catholic, but I decided to show it again due to me realizing I was overreacting. Anyway, it is a toy replica of the Assyrian Wind Demon Pazuzu from the Film and Novel The Exorcist by William Peter Blatty. As you know, Pazuzu is the King Of The Wind Demons in Mespotamian mythology, son of Hanbi, God Of Evil, and brother of Humbaba, who was slain both by Gilgamesh and Enkidu and bringer of plagues of locusts, storms, and famines, but yet protector of pregnant women and children against the demoness Lamashtu, who ate children, and is mentioned in the Simon version of the Necronomicon. I got this statue due to it being a horror movie collectible and being a collector of ancient cultures. The back of the box mentions Father Merrin from the film and how he saw Pazuzu's statue at the archaeological dig in Iraq. Speaking of which, I heard of an urban legend of a statue of Pazuzu in the Syrian desert that appeared out of nowhere and how during Christmas, local Syrian Christians throw stones at it as a symbolic gesture of keeping the Devil at bay from harming them. Of course, I don't know if that actually happened or not since it is an urban legend after all. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this image of this horror movie collectible
