The life of traveling trainers. Julia's parents were Unova born and raised, with their hearts set upon becoming ace trainers known universally. Her mother, a tall red haired girl a dreamer, full of energy and optimism. Her father a short broad shouldered man who was openly expressive, excitable, and welcoming. The two traveled all over Unova, their separate teams of pokemon growing stronger and stronger. At nights they would set up camp, and rest in company with each others within a lonesome tent. The nights of living together in tents on the move slowly grew into a baby bump. For the sake of the baby the traveling trainers retired, and used their savings to but a small home in Nimbasa city. Their baby room was a noteworthy place for curiosity from their pokemon, who often explored the pastel coated room in confusion, none understood the currently pointless room of plushes and powder. Upon her birth they shared the realization, and most avoided voyages into the pastel land to not upset the small loud child. Noot, the family persian however continued to visit the small bundle of screams.
Soon the infant and the large feline grew inseparable, and the pokemon grew able to soothe the child in a way the parents even couldn't. To some this would be disheartening, however both parents found this to be joyful. Perhaps their child would grow into a trainer, or anything to do with pokemon. Before her parents realized it Julia was a toddler, mumbling her first words and taking her first shaky steps. Ever gentle, Noot would slowly walk next to the child, allowing her fatty fingers to tangle in her fur to stumble through the house, the feline giving her a form to support her weight. By the time she was speaking full sentences she was learning to command pokemon, her parents happily teaching her the moves their pokemon knew, type differences, and how to properly treat pokemon as allies instead of pets. Her years were sheltered, and full of the happiest memories of family and pokemon. She soon began to visit the Musical Theatre, dressing up Noot in all sorts of peculiar fashion shows. They rarely won anything, but grew a small fan base for simple cute factor. For every show her parents watched, and soon began to refer to them as 'stars'. This term of endearment boosted Julias confidence and made her squeal with happiness whenever she was called such. For her tenth birthday her parents surprised her with a photo album displaying every photo of the musical theatre duo, and many more family snapshots. Despite being young Julia found delight in stroking the images through the plastic.
Small battles began to train Julia for the life of a trainer, the job she proclaimed to want from the age of nine. Nothing dangerous, Julia would Command Noot against her families other pokemon who enjoyed battle practice after years of retirement. Occasionally, under parental supervision weaker wild pokemon would also pose as battle practice, nothing more than patrats or woobats. The wild pokemon of the forest posed no threat to the battle wizened persian or the eager child, and the parents allowed them to visit the forest for berry picking together. Occasionally a wild pokemon would attack, but they posed nothing more than some extra exp. By gathering berries she was paid a small allowance, which she used to pamper Noot with food, toys and accessories. On occasion she would purchase herself a plush, something of which she adores. In their spare time she was home schooled, which proved to be effective. This was when they learned how difficult Julia found expressing her own emotions. Art, writing, verbally-emotions that were her own couldn't be explained, which was surprising due to her in depth understanding of others emotions.
A journey into the forest proved to be Julia's biggest regret. The mere age of thirteen, accompanied only by her beloved persian she set out to pick berries for her family. A stranger, shrouded in black clothing approached, causing Noot to immediately begin to snarl, hackles raised, pokemon always had a good judge of character, and Noot never snarled at another creature before. The feline put her body between the child and the stranger, alerting Julia that danger was in the air. The stranger demanded her to hand over all her money, to which Julia forked over her measly pocket change-remainders of her allowance after purchasing some catnip for Noot. Outraged they began to shout, demanding they give over the rest of their belonging and the rest of her money. Having nothing but her basket of berries Julia began to cry, frightened by the adult who only began to shout more. Fueled by her motherly protective nature Noot pounced, shoving the stranger back as they stepped forwards pulling out a dagger to threaten the child. Bruised and furious the stranger threw a pokeball and called upon a luxray, and the two cats began to fight tooth and nail. Claws and teeth ripped wounds, electricity burned, shadows scarred-children screamed. Julia began to plead the other to stop, watching her beloved friend and protector become bloodied. With a great array of colors a psybeam shot from the bushes as Zapdos the Sigilyph shot out, it had been tasked with using its psychic powers to check up on Julia and had detected the danger from miles away. Panicking the thief attempted to flee, but way violently thrown into a tree by the psychic pokemon instead.
Sobbing Julia fell to her knees, stumbling forwards to grasp Noots face as she collapsed. The persian, even in critical state could only purr in happiness at seeing Julia safe. Her clothes were soon soaked in her persians blood, and her mind was forever stained with the image of the feline slowly collapsing, purr interrupted with gurgling blood. Her father soon caught up to his partner pokemon, and rushed over to his child. They all rushed to the pokecenter, and Julia cried into her fathers shoulders the few hours they waited. They tried as best they could, but Noot died upon the table. Julia fell into a brief period of grief associated depression alongside her mother, Noot had been her mothers first pokemon and longest partner as well as Julias and the two grieved for many months. The two never truly got over the loss, but with all grief comes the period of growing out of it. Coming to terms with it, both began to resume their normal lives, Julia however was incrediblyfrightened of forests, a fear she carries on to present days.
For years Julia refused to even go outside. She preferred to stay inside, avoid the outside world and continue her homeschooling to ignore everything else. Worried, the family made the decision to move to the Issho region, getting an apartment in the center of Union City. Without the presence of trees and natural forms Julia began to stroll the outside world once more, slowly growing more relaxed. Her outfits grew more casual, baggy jeans and sweaters becoming her go to. Her more masculine form never bothered her, even when misgendered in cafes she never bothered to correct them. She enjoyed traveling to many establishments and cafes, and got a part time job at one of her favorite cafes. Her family was relieved, the city being just what she needed to fully return to normal. A cluster of stray feline pokemon would greet her in the morning, strays she would feed off her paycheques. Her love for pokemon grew more evident, and soon she became a popular hand out spot for the strays, some following and waiting outside her place of work for affection and table scraps. Yet she didn't make the decision to resume her past dream of becoming a trainer until she punched a team Zephyr member in the face and returned a stolen zigzagoon to a child. She had been frightened of traveling and training pokemon far too long. With fiends in the world out to rip away others pokemon and lives she vowed to become a strong trainer, to uphold and protect the innocent and never allow another child to witness the death or loss of a beloved friend again.
