Description unusual work from me! if you follow me on instagram you saw some shots of the process!
I'm not sure if I should put mature content on it, if this makes you uncomfortable I'll put it.

So~ crystals I grew on a skull I found in the yard. We always had tons of foxes around, and cats so it's no surprise to find these gems here and there during summer. I'm planning on making more of them, in fact I have I have 3 other skulls from the same species around (I believe these are muskrats)! If you guys like this one I'll post photos of my future specimens as well!

As things go I'd really consider maybe selling a few (probably some from this batch) I'd really love to hear what you guys think about it! if it'd be something interesting, what you'd be thinking price-wise etc!

That is cool! What kind of crystals are they? Is the blue coloration from the crystals too??

thanks!
they're epsom salt crystals! the blue coloration was a test I did, I wanted the crystals to turn blue but the dye didnt catch into them but rather died the skull instead (which I think it a happy mistake, I really dig it with the bumpy texture the solution gave to it)

I wanna try with different kind of solution to get different shapes of crystals too they're so fun to make *___*!!!

A happy accident indeed! I wonder if the porous structure of the skull took up the dye before the crystals could take it in? Dyes usually like organic material, in my experience (can't tell you how many times I walked out of lab with dyed skin lol)

They sound like a lot of fun to make! It's chemistry! Please post more!

I wouldn't be surprised that this is what happened! I guess the dye I used wasnt strong enough neither maybe... I saw a few products that are traditionally used to dye crystals but I'd have to order it online. I think I'll do a few experiments before I get there!

I'm glad you like them, I'll keep you updated ;'P
