Summai was standing on a cliff and watched the ocean and the sky fight like two furious animals. Lightnings and waves were their claws and thunder was their roar. Somehow the weather made her feel frightened and happy at the same. She was the Storms Queen, at least some lionesses called her that secretly since it was a strom like this, when she defeated her mother to claim the title as queen. She remembered it well, though she'd never tell. She let the elderly lionesses tell that story. She was a warrior, a fighter, a queen, not a tale teller.
It was also a storm that comforted her when she had lost her cub to the previous dry season back then. It was only a single cub and only a male one, but it was strong and beautifull to look at. Summai thought that he would make the pride proud, his daughters would also become strong and pretty when he reached that age, what he never did. She mourned untill the rain came. The raindrops washed away her tears and only left wet fur.
Standing there in the rain and winds, she felt relieved. The cold water on her fur made her forget the sweltry dry season behind her. Of course the coastlands were not bothered by the heat that much like the other prides, but the warmth made the jungle sticky and that showed in the mood of her lionesses. In the last days there were some smaller fights for stupid reasons, some lionesses lost their nerves and they took it out on each other.
Now that she stood there on her cliff, watching the storm, she also felt safe to grief again.

I have to say I pretty like that simple pic xD
I didn't actually had the idea of making a story to that pic, it came while drawing, when I added the water on her fur. I made it run over her cheek and it looked a bit like she was crying and I thought to myself 'What, when she's only the harsh queen for the others?' She allready lost a cub and a mate, she fought against her mother and all that stuff, I mean yes, as a coastland lioness that's normal, but it was still her family, maybe she wouldn't show anybody, and only allowing her feelings to come out when no one can see it?
