I've been wanting to ask about your coloring for some time but I always get nervous about asking others on here I've had some mixed reactions. You (colored pencil) and Stephanie Piu Min Law (watercolor) have a similar aesthetic that I've been wanting to try out. My problem is I'm too literal of an artist and use literal or real world color in my work instead on leaning on style or representative feels. How are you able to break from linear and literal in order to play in the fun representative portions of color? How do you blend many colors like this with out muddied effect?
I'm in my exploritory phase I think. I'm wanting to try different things to see what will be best for my voice or my overall growth. It's been rough because part of me is stuck in this style-less semi-feminine form that is still me, and I'm not sure I want to break from it because I don't want to "copy" others. I've been told you can't develope style without trying other things though, and that you don't have to copy somebody but can inject elements of styles into your own. I think on this particular color aesthetic or element I just wanted to give it a try and see if I can break my ridgedness. Learn to be less of an absolute control freak about literal color.
