Wait, so is this for an illustration for an official book of the fairy tale? If so, I am so excited for this! Well, I'm excited anyway because this fairy-tale usually gets by-passed so often. Your illustrations are so surreal and so evocative of the beautifully tragic tone of the tale. Fantastic job!

Oh, I'm sorry I took this long to reply to your comment. It was done for a school mini project actually. I'm thinking about using the 5 illustrations I already have to finish an "Undine Collection", maybe finish a book, who knows. But first I need to work on my comics. XD
Your kind comment made me very glad. Thank you very much. T-T

great artwork but (no offense) you do know another children's book called "Undine" exists, right? (or actually more than one, but the one I'm talking about is ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I… )
It's really lovely though!

Yes, yes, there are lots of illustrated version of Undine. It's a german fairytale written by Friedich de la Motte-Fouqué, available on project Gutenberg (public domain, anyone can illustrate it and publish).
That one is the Benjamin Lacombe one.
The version I used to know before doing those illustrations was Rackham's one. And still my favorite.

I always loved the de la Motte Fouque Undine story and the Rackham pictures that went with it, but both are somewhat sinister. Your pictures have that ethereal quality that suits them to the telling of a magical fairy tale. Very nice.

The color scheme reminds me of something else which I don't know if I want to mention or not.
Ice Queen and Innocence are your clues lol.

It's not a big deal, and no you're not dumb, that just means we don't share the same interests, and I only pointed it out because it reminded me of something. Actually, to be honest, I think the clues I left are a little lackluster with their descriptiveness. Oh well, sorry for the late reply by the way, haven't been on in a while.

I don't want you to be sad, but I like more this style than your usual one. I like it so much that I fell in love with it. Now I want to buy a book with these illustrations >__<
