Description
This is one of the old drawings I talked about in my journal. Yes, I drew most of this a few years back. I can't say when exactly, or why I drew it. For practice probably. No reference used!!! ……JK. It's based on a picture from Star Wars: The Complete Visual Dictionary, which I bought when it came out some years ago. I found the sketch when I was going through piles of old stuff and remembered I had always planned to finish it but never had time. So I did it now, because I thought it wouldn't take too long (a few hours). Basically, what's new is the cloak and the hands. The rest was not redrawn but touched up when necessary.
As you all can see (hopefully xD), Yoda from Star Wars it is!!! One of the best characters in my opinion. The reference image, I believe, is a promotional picture for The Revenge of the Sith. The original can be seen here: s3.amazonaws.com/d19kay3cfixgf…
I definitely prefer the original trilogy to the prequel trilogy. Not least because the characters were far more intriguing. All my favourites are from the original trilogy but I liked that some of them showed up in the prequel trilogy as well, such as Yoda. It's hard to imagine how the new movies will be like because no doubt will they require new characters. And they will be made by Disney … I'm not sure about how I feel about Disney buying Star Wars. It doesn't have to mean they'll ruin everything and I can't honestly have a real opinion until I've seen the new movies, but I don't like that Disney owns so much these days. It's better for some franchises and companies to stand on their own if you ask me.
That said, I'm aware that this is not perfect. That was not my aspiration, though. I know that I drew a large portion of this when I was pretty young (perhaps only 13 or so, I'm 18 now) and my main goal when I returned to this drawing was to finish it, not perfect it. I believe some parts would have turned out better if I made them now but I don't care about that, the most important thing is that I see where it went wrong so I can do it better next time. The main issue is the proportions and size of the drawing's different parts in relation to one another (there are also some angle errors), something I think I can do better now. My art teacher said recently that my croquis drawings were anatomically correct so that's nice at least. ^^ This is why I wouldn't like you to point out the issues with the drawing. It's OK for you to do that with the rest of my gallery (especially my newer art), but in this case it's not necessary because the base of this picture is very old and I can see the mistakes myself.
Nevertheless, I like this picture quite a lot and I hope you will too! Enjoy this I hope you do, hmm??
