Description
This black and pink dragon is a princess of the sea! Her black body is coated in softly shimmering purple scales that change color depending on the angle. Translucent pink fins shimmer with color-shifting glitter and golden-pink shells decorate her head, shoulders, and tail. Caught mid-turn, she gazes upwards, smiling in a gentle, almost sly fashion. What secrets of the deep does this enigmatic beauty keep?
It's been a while since my last noodle dragon and I wanted to try something daring this time around - a full foil armature! I usually avoid using tin foil in my sculptures because it's very easy to get pockets of air trapped against it, leading to unsightly bubbling protrusions in the finished piece, but I knew I was going to need a sturdy center to attain this specific, looping pose. Needless to say, I was VERY careful in working on this dragon, and she turned out just fine. No bubbling, and she balances perfectly well. Honestly, I could have bypassed all of the danger with the foil by using Cosclay (I'm sure it would have held its shape just fine without any sort of armature inside), but the black Cosclay isn't dark enough and I wanted this dragon to be truly black.
Crafted from Premo polymer clay, alcohol ink, gilding foil, color-shifting flakes and powders, and handmade glass eyes. This dragon has been sold.
