WOW. You've got incredible style--I could easily see this in a professional gallery. The "artness" in this thing sort of reached out and punched me in the nose. It was glorious.

Wow, you have no idea how much of a compliment that is. I hold your opinion in extremely high regard to begin with, but to hear you say that makes me feel even more special. In it's original conception, this was supposed to be a really strong, really "artsy" piece, but I felt like a lot of it died when it hit the paper. Then the piece got a really weak reception from my watchers, so I just chalked it up as a failure...

But to hear you say that! Oh, to hear you say that.... Thank you so much for your praise.

Manufactered stars. One day you will be able to buy one along with your cereal at Publix.
Though I will admit, the Jonas Brothers aren't untalented, just not what I choose to listen to.

Fame is something I am pround to say is something I don't want, unless of course its for being a successful entrepreneur. And I intend to stay fully colthed to achieve it.

We live in a society where people who sit in a house for a few months while being recorded become household names (Big Brother is simply and insult to 1984-sadly most of the fans would even understand the reference)
or you make a porn video as in the famouse for no real reason Paris Hilton.

Sorry this picture is provokative in a good way. I felt the need to rant.

That's the next step....

I agree with you. Reality TV is the lowest form of entertainment, but yet so many people become stars from it. It's almost like high school at a larger scale. She who bitches the most is best.

No problem at all. I love provoking conversations like this (even if it does take me a long time to reply).

No worries on reply times, I gerally forget alltogether, for like a month.

The popularity of these shows is an indication our race is failing. On an epic scale. And they are pointless. I watch TV for entertainment purposes, Psych or Knight Rider, they have story lines, plots, and good characters. What is so facinating about sitting in a house and watching people sitting in a house or on some island.

I think my IQ is too high to understand this.

I love Psych.

That's definitely a possibility. I wonder where this craze came from...

Its awesome isn't it!

Sript writers all suddenly lost the ability to understand English? So in a pinch a load of producers found a house and stuck some people in it so they don't lose their funding?
The mind boggles.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

HugsLee13 In reply to Midnight-Rush [2009-08-11 00:18:24 +0000 UTC]

That must be it. It's the only logical explanation.

Maybe during the writers strike producers became dependent on reality TV in order to have programing.

Midnight-Rush In reply to HugsLee13 [2009-08-11 18:15:46 +0000 UTC]

That must have been it! Because seriously, how can sticking annoying people on islands be considered a form of entertainment?

HugsLee13 In reply to Midnight-Rush [2009-08-13 21:00:03 +0000 UTC]

Well, other than laughing as the annoying people diss each other, there really is no value to it at all. It just plays on the human desire to set each other up for a fall.

We as a race have some weird desires.

And reality TV is right up there with Cubism.

really smart concept

Wow, a genuine JB fan didn't flame me.... I feel honored!

I'm glad that you like the concept. I feel that JB themselves didn't go into this with the intention of becoming a mere product for Disney. They wanted to make their music and ending up selling their personal lives to teen magazines and their identities as artists to Disney. For instance, have you seen JONAS? On the show, Disney spends equal amounts of time addressing Kevin's character as Joe and Nick's. This is because he's a product and they're trying to market him to the fans, even though everyone knows that the miniature fangirls like Joe and Nick better.

Siryann In reply to HugsLee13 [2009-06-22 16:51:26 +0000 UTC]

i'm sure they didn't want something like that at the beginning, but when you have it, it's the kind of thing you don't wanna loose. because even if you were in a suburb and had friends, it's not like that anymore and you have a different lifestyle. they always say ยซ live like if you're at the bottom, even if you are at the top ยป and i'm sure they do their best, but i don't know what they will become when they will not be famous anymore. because they don't see it, but i'm sure they changed, at least a little bit. because even if you don't wanna change, you grow in this environment and it's bigger than you.

being famous, i don't know if it's a blessing to be heard by other people or if you loose comletely your life. Nick will never have this teenager years when everything is so fun. he is already so mature and everything he's doing is watched.

at least, they had great oppurtunities, lucky for them. i prefer this kind of business with disney and everything than the girls that are naked on tv in their videoclips to sell CDs. it's more ... human?

sorry for all this blabla, haha.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

HugsLee13 In reply to Siryann [2009-06-24 03:04:55 +0000 UTC]

No, it's fine. I love blabla.

You seem to have a lot of insight into this matter. And you do have a very good point. Once you have it, you don't know what to do once it's gone. I'm not suggesting that they try to give it up. I'm just shooting off my opinions in form of paper and ink.

It is true that Disney provides a safer market for young entertainers to present themselves in and it's good that they haven't been forced to cheapen themselves to gain attention. But even so, we live in a patriarchal society. JB would most likely never have to rely on their sex appeal to sell albums. It's how the consumer world works.
