I have a job that requires grunt work, taking out the trash is one of them. This looks exactly what I have to handle on a near daily basis, except junk like this have maggots crawling on the edge of the can.
And the smell is overwhelming.

How on Earth did water get passed the trunk lid seal?
π: 0 β©: 2
NigelYearning In reply to HectorEDefendi [2016-03-16 14:44:37 +0000 UTC]
It's not moisture-sealed, and also judging by the age of the car the rubber seal was probably deteriorating beforehand.

I'm not sure though, maybe I'm overestimating it? Hell for all I know it was driven in that spot seven years ago.
If it is seized up, can that be fixed?

You'd have to completely tare the engine down

Yep, twenty years, oi.
True, hopefully I can get everything changed and it'll still run. I want to see if I can get it started before I put more effort into it.

hunterN05 In reply to DuneTheZangoose [2016-03-18 14:56:00 +0000 UTC]
Quite a bit.
After a bit of looking and inspection, here's what all I probably need to do, until I can check the underside that is.
--
Need to replace the headlights I believe, as what I could see, they were busted and rusted. Maybe the taillights as well.
The engine needs to be checked to see if its seized up, if that's the case, I'll need ot pull it out to take it apart and clean it.
All the tires need replacing, and I need a new rim for the back right, as that tire is a spare.
It needs to be cleaned, inside and out, obviously.
Needs windshield wiper covers.
Various fluids = oil, transmission, gas, need to be changed and cleaned.
Annnnd, I believe that's it, for now anyhway, until I can check the other parts
