Description I draw damn slowly nowadays...I took a good 6 days to draw this. Well I guess it was something like I drew half of it one day, did little bits of touchups the past few days and only got it all drawn and neatened out this morning after feeling guilty that I'd been neglecting my art for so long. So here it is...was trying for a sleeker warrior look that was more feminine, not one of those size DDD cup Amazonian women who can flatten enemies just by turning around. So yeah, she's rather clothed (sorry guys)...I don't dare to ink this, at most I may do some shading and CG directly onto the pencils. C&C? I think her legs are kinda funny, and her arms too, but I leave that to you to decide...

The armor is nicely designed. Seems practical and realistic. Glad you didn't succumb to the pressure of drawing a bikini armor Perhaps you can add a strap to the helmet, though. Right now, it looks like it could drop off easily during battles.

Ah, good point about the chin strap...I was considering one but the drawing was getting a little too messy up at her head so I decided that in this case you'd just have to suspend your disbelief! But in future I shall try that. I've just realized the fun in drawing armour!

Another great pic! The overall design is quite good. But your caption says "Woman of War", while your title is "Warrior Elf chick". For myself, it doesn't exactly seem elvish to me, more like a Roman/Trojan warrior. Not exactly medieval either (she seems to have a rank insignia on her collar).

I don't think a warrior elf would use such a heavy looking sword... and the ears seem more like a part of her helm design, rather than the elf's ears?

I would also agree with you, the pencils give it a certain feel that the inks wouldn't show, what with the sketchy lines and all... My verdict is, if you want to ink it, photocopy it and ink on another piece with a lightbox.

I really like the hair, the shoulder guards, and the plume on the helm!

Critiques: Her upper arm seems a bit too straight.

I think her bum could be shifted a bit higher, no?

As for her right thigh and calf, there seem to be sharp angles - maybe they could be less sharp, especially the one on the upper calf.

I think her boot could be slightly larger. Slim, but longer.

Also, you could thicken the outline of the cape so it's more in line with the rest of the drawing.

I like this piece! (But it doesn't seem too elvish...)

I did it in green erasable pencil, that's why!

Looks like you've got quite a palatte of pencils in colour. What affects the decision of which colour to draw in?

It's quite simple really... these are all mechanical pencil leads, so whatever coloured leads I have on hand I just use! I may use blue, red or pink if I fancy, but since I'd just bought green leads I figured I'd use them. More practicality at work than artistry!
