I read that you only worked on the backgrounds, so I'll focus my critiques there. The rocks seems to have an unnatural jelly-like texture from the way they're shaded, and their composition makes them look like mounds of sand rather than actual rocks. I strongly suggest using pictures of real rocks specifically in rapids for future references, and keep in mind that rocks and boulders have multiple surfaces around them when shading. As for the night sky, I suggest making the stars extremely small white dots and spread them around like dust in the wind, and remove the white highlights on the moon that makes it look like a glass sphere.

I'll keep in mind the photo references, and all the other tips, they really do seem rather useful, thank you so much for your time! Also, about the stars, how to make them seem luminous? Should the bright highlight on the moon be removed or more blended? Or les bright?

The thing is, stars only look luminous in telescopic pictures, and not when viewed from the ground (unless you're squinting really hard, which is not the case in your background drawing). So it's best if you just drew the stars as white dots 1px or 4px small. And as for the moon, the bright highlights shouldn't be there in the first place. I've done enough nighttime photography to know that the moon ether looks like it's very flat color-wise, or it's only giving a soft glow around it's edges. Here's an old comic page I made with a night sky. The composition isn't that great, but it should give you a good idea of what I'm explaining:

the characters are well illustrated, but the background and environment are a bit lacking? i dunno, maybe try to make the stars more twinkly and stuff instead of dots, more details to the shading too, but loved the idea of mothcats

Thank you! I know the background lacks depth I'm hoping that the nex attempt will be better. Thank you for taking the time to comment.
Mothcats are an ARPG by @/doroling so she gets the credit for that!

Moth cats, something I would have never expected to enjoy. Very interesting artwork, my favorite part is the cookies left by that moon like spring. The only thing I have to question is the idea of moth cat creatures enjoying a soak in water, cause my cat hates baths lol

Ur part of the group? Well wild cats swim, so maybe mothcats do, too...I dunno.

I never thought about it till u mentioned it but, why would cats go to a hot spring?

Heck if I know but I guess moth cats are a very interesting breed that requires further studying. Maybe they are a more advanced society of cats that go the gym and they have aching muscles that need to feel better idk but the art really makes me think

I like the way you think, so we know the cats are smart enough to bake cookies without apossable thumbs or they were served them by another form of intelligent being. The fact that they don't seem to be on earth in the picture leads me to believe there are no humans. I'm almost starting to believe that the moth cats are an experimental creature with DNA taken from both earthly moths and cats (obviously) so that being said and I don't want to jump to any strange conclusions here but I believe aliens have done this. There is a study on cats that is almost horrifying in all seriousness. That their is a parasitic creature that comes out in cat feces that when introduced to humans will actually make the humans like them more. It's insane and true. Hence crazy cat ladies. So based on this information what do you think should be the best thesis for this? I think cats are sent to earth to take over the world slowly but surely.

I'll tellyou a picture of how Tammy bakes, and why she needs to fly back to mainland to do so. It'll take a while tho. They are supposed to be on eart in the picture, my colouring just doesn't make it seem so. That experiment is puke worthy(is that a word?) I think they're supposed to infiltrate human organisations and steal technology.

It's a word and the thing about the cat parasite thing is actually real I find it amazing and scary but what kind of tech do they steal? Is it only baking technology or is this like covert ops?

Technology that will help them accomplish everything they can't do cuz of their anatomy that humans can't.

oh my gosh look how cute this is!!!
eee i love it! <3
heads up, i'm here from ProjectComment and i'd love to critique you!!
i certainly love the characters especially the one up on the rock!!!!!
the characters are creative, and the species itself is nice (good job, doroling )
though, i can see a few issues with this that simply need a little improving!!
the first thing which stands out to me is how the character who is up on the rock doesn't...
really look like they're on the rock?? it's kind of like they're just stuck onto the page. ;;
maybe with a little more shading there it could look more convincing!
Now, the next thing is the water! i like the way you guys tried to show the water rippling as
the characters move! though, a thought is adding reflections and more lighting from the moon.
maybe also show the lower halves of the characters in the water?
i think in general just shading and lighting.

Well, I was the one who. Did the background and being kind of new at it , I want too sure what to do with so many rocks or water, I don't have much idea how to get better at shading and lighting, but I will keep trying! Thanks so much for ur time!
