Description Β  Β Here are two fragments from the chapter "The meeting with unknown" that give an idea of the meaning of the illustrations created with AI.
---------
They wore suits with a higher degree of protection that were simultaneously spacesuits. Heinrich turned on the robot. The robot had joined the plates together, and they saw the cloud of darkness and felt a strange cold penetrating even through the spacesuits, deep into the body.
"Let's retreat further," Christian said, "we have made a mistake."
The plates had risen into the air and formed a tetrahedron, which began to expand. The cold paralysed them. But Heinrich had time to move away further. The black tetrahedron became so big that it swallowed Christian.
"You've got our attention," Christian heard.
He was in an unknown place. It was similar to the stone building with many corridors.
Christian didn't know what he should do and went straight ahead. He had passed several meters and saw the cracks hanging in the air. They were the cracks in space, and he saw a big yellow area through them. The cracks increased and transformed into a single passageway as Christian came closer. Christian recoiled, and the passageway turned back into several cracks. He could get them around, but he decided to go ahead. Christian turned out in the huge hall. The portal that led to the already-known corridor was behind him. Christian saw many similar passages in this hall.
He was at a loss to understand where he was and how all this worked. The holes or tunnels in spacetime couldn't look like this and hang in the big room like holograms. Maybe this is a teleportation technology of an unknown civilisation? And one more thing confounded him: Christian was without his spacesuit.
"Is this real at all?" Christian thought, "Maybe this is a hallucination, or maybe I am in some virtual reality."
"Recall the flat map of the landscape or the flat scheme of the building," he heard the voice in his mind, "suppose you have virtual reality glasses that give you an oversimplified flat map of the building but permit you to move there."
Christian didn't speak to himself. Was it the voice of someone else or a hallucination, too? Christian decided to maintain this strange dialogue without a first introduction to an unknown interlocutor.
But what does the analogue with a flat map mean? Is three-dimensional building an oversimplified picture of something more complex? The strange gaps in space could point to some kind of maze in multi-dimensional space, but the human body can't exist there.
"You are right, Christian," the strange voice said, "But why do you think you have a human body?"
"So, I have another physical nature now?" Christian asked, "But how could it be possible?"
----------------------------
"Whom do I have the pleasure of speaking to?" Christian asked in an old-fashioned and official manner, not confident about how to behave in this situation.
"Call me Architect. Some former members of your society called us Apsyhoses."
Christian saw a man who appeared from nothing.
"This is not my real appearance, as you may understand," Architect said, "I can illustrate to you all this in the primitive form at first."
Christian has seen many coloured dots in the space of the hall.
