"Treecarvers were blind giants that roamed the earth long before the ages of recorded history. A generally rare type of Terrafauna, they were born of the ground with earth in their veins and rocky skin, with legends claiming that they could stand nearly 300 feet tall. Despite their incredibly powerful stature, they were known to be very docile and friendly to the creatures of the land, if ever they were encountered (though most animals would flee from the lumbering giants to avoid being stepped on accidentally, as wild animals are generally want to do). Because of this and a lack of familial groups, a Treecarver’s existence was quite solitary, and perhaps quite lonely, with the exception of the birds that might nest in the giant’s leafy coverings.

In response to the solitude of their lives, Treecarvers wandered endlessly in pursuit of the pleasure of tactile experiences. With a lifespan of ages, the creatures eventually learned to fashion tools and developed a passion for sculpting and carving the natural formations around them. It is said that a Treecarver would sit for years, delicately chipping away at ancient woodbulbs that populated the land, creating unique and intricately branched sculptures that were a pleasure to the touch. These sculptures (which we have dubbed "trees") also proved a useful wayfinding system for the handicapped hulks."
